GILLIGAN"S ISLAND---movie underway based on the castaway sitcom that starred Bob Denver, Alan Hale, Jr., Jim Backus, Russell Johnson, Natalie Schafer, Dawn Wells and Tina Louise. Josh Gad was signed to be star/co-writer, but Warner Bros. did not disclose Gad's role. The sitcom ran on CBS from 1964-1967.

THE WALKING DEAD---showrunner Scott Gimple commented on the second half of the season which premiers on February 9, "It's going to hit [Rick] in a way that we haven't seen before. If it's just the two of them, [Carl is] going to have to step up quite a bit because circumstances are wildly different and a lot will depend on him in terms of them just surviving. They don't have an awesome, dual-layer fence and brick buildings to hide behind. They're out in the world."
Also, Frank Darabont, the series' original showrunner, is suing AMC claiming he is "owed tens of millions of dollars of profits" and the network "fired Darabont without cause shortly before season 2 aired precisely in order to avoid its contractual obligation to pay him increased profits (which vested fully at the conclusion of season 2) and to avoid its obligation to negotiate to hire him as showrunner for season 3."

A.D.: BEYOND THE BIBLE---new NBC 12-episode miniseries which is a sequel to the History Channel's THE BIBLE. Jennifer Salke, head of NBC Entertainment, "In the first episode alone you see the last moments of the Crucifixion, Judas taking his own life after betraying Christ, Peter denying Jesus three times, and then the miracle of the Resurrection." Mark Burnett and Roma Downey return as the creators.

LAZARUS---horror movie underway about research students who accidentally kill a team member. They reanimate her which unleashes a deadly force that threatens mankind. Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass star.

QUEEN MARY---untitled horror movie underway inspired by the legendary hauntings on the former ocean liner.

AWOL 72---movie underway about an AWOL Marine who possesses top secret information and is being pursued by an assassin. Luke Goss (HELLBOY: THE GOLDEN ARMY) stars.

THE WEST---Discovery Channel/Robert Redford documentary series underway about the settling of the West from the end of the Civil War to the beginning of the 20th century.

HOW TO BE SINGLE---movie underway based on the novel about a 38-year-old New York woman who is seeking Mr. Right. Drew Barrymore is co-producer.

When "National Treasure" came out, I thought Justin Bartha (Riley) could play Gilligan. Now he's too old.

I thought the television series, GILLIGAN'S ISLAND was horrid; but, I can assure you, the film will be worse.

John Goodman should play the skipper in Gilligan's Island. (In fact, he did play the part in a fantasy episode of Roseanne and was great.)

Have to agree with this. I watched it endlessly as a kid, but I think this show marked the beginning of "junk food" television.

Sandra Bullock waaaay to old for the part. Mila Kunis has the looks but at 30 isnt really right for the part either. Selena Gomez would make the perfect Mary Ann and she can do comedy.
