Finally received my copy. Wow, what a fun score. The only downside. Now I want the other PA scores even more. Does anyone know how the CD is selling? I mean the more succesful it is the better are chances for more PA releases. Although I unfortunately doubt that they will release all scores frown

I believe he said the CD was selling well, but also keep in mind he also said they had only one comedy score sell out in their entire time in business. So comedy scores are tough sells, and extremely risky.

I believe this is the last remark from M.V. about Police Academy:

Most like 2/3 will be next. There are rights issues with Part 4 due to the rock album. We'll just wait and see.

That would be great. I read somewhere that the 10 minute PA suite on the Robert Folk promo double CD from the 90s is from part 2. And that`s wonderful music. IMO it`s even better than the music for part 1. Can`t wait.

Let me chime in -- I also love the cd, and certainly hope it sells well enough for the sequels to be released so I can plunk down my money for them as well.

If it's the promo I'm thinking of, it's music from PA4. (I could be wrong!)

But I agree, the music for PA2 is even better. I'm looking forward to the music from the shootout in the chandelier store. (Because what other kind of store could it possibly be?) big grin

And the second film includes a brief visit to the Blue Oyster Bar but instead of El Bimbo, there's a fun instrumental piece (which I assume Folk also composed).

Police Academy 2, 3 and 4 feature awesome music. Very similar to James Horner style in the eighties. I am looking forward La La Land releasing these titles, I would be buying them for sure.

I think their Police Academy cd is selling better than expected so here's hoping we get more music from the saga as soon as it's possible.

By the way, I am sure Robert Folk is extremely happy for the love and likes this music is getting at the moment, great for an underrated composer.

One of my favourite releases of last year, I had not released how much brilliant music featured in the score. Its a classic case of "Its not all about the theme!" - which, as we all know, is brilliant!

Is the Tango music from the Blue Oyster on the soundtrack? I can't see it on the track listing.

There are a lot of great tracks in this release (I love Riot Gear) but it is a very bitty album and for me some tracks would be better combined/suited (though admittedly I tend to hate that). I also tend to skip El Bimbo, it's just not my thing.

Tracks like Match have a strong 80's TV feel rather than a movie feel/sound. Not that that is actually a bad thing just surprises me.

This is one of my favorite releases of last year. Fantastic score, addictive theme, slick action music toward the end...just a perfect, perfect soundtrack.

I was having a difficult time with this playlist. I took your advice and made six long suites. Makes all the difference in the world!

To supposedly quote Johaness Brahms, "any idiot can see that".

Still enjoying this score immensely. I hear little rifts (short musical outbursts) that remind me of Superman and The Right Stuff. Anyone hear this? It's not a case of lampooning, or temp track syndrome. Perhaps a bit of a subconscious infusion?

So, has MV said anything about new Police Academy scores coming?

Last I saw, he mentioned 2016 due to a ton of WB titles in the pipeline that they have to get to first.

Revisiting this 80's gem today and was wondering if the prospect of more of these scores being released is still in the works? It's been a long time since we've heard any updates.

Wow, it's been three years already?! Hopefully the sequels are still in the pipeline. We know comedy scores "don't sell", so perhaps they have to budget it in knowing they're not going to get a big return on it.
