Considering how big this show was ( Ten seasons of SG-1, Five seasons of Atlantis, and um, two for Universe ) , im surprised these have not been any more than a few soundtrack releases for Joel Goldsmiths scores for this series.

There is certainly an awful lot of material to choose from.Surely i am not the only one who would be up for some Ron Jones project style soundtrack sets for this magnificent franchise?

Back before Joel passed away, he would sometimes post at his forum; later on his posts became rarer (little did we know that apparently he was suffering from cancer), but before he passed away, he would talk about future releases in the works.

He mentioned titles rarely, and pretty much all but Stargate has come to pass. He was taking suggestions for SG1 and Atlantis cues for sets. I assume his declining health put the kibosh on it all.

I remember catching something he said and pointing out the poster on his site had other titles that had no0t been released yet and he said I caught him:
http://freeclyde.com/swag/swag.html

Since then, titles from the poster that have been released:
"Helen of Troy"
"Star Trek: First Contact" (the complete edition)
"Call of Duty 3" (though I imagine he meant a differetn edition than the one that came with the game)

Title on the poster that has not come to pass [yet]:
"The Man With Two Brains"

That is, of course, assuming he didn't mean expanded editions for the regular titles, like "Siloh" and "Diamonds".

Unless plans changed because of his death, I would assume we'll eventually get those sets he talked about.

I'd love to see a Stargate SG-1 box set of soundtracks but would prefer a SG-Universe CD first. The season one music was fantastic and deserved a release. Joel Goldsmith was a talent taken far too early. I miss his scores.

I've been meaning to post this exact question for a year now at least, but I always forget to do it. Always wanted more SG-1 music and at least a disc worth of SGU. Great stuff that. Much better than some of the later more Berman-ized and wallpapery TV Star Trek scores.

Absolutely, count me in as one who would love a STARGATE box! The more Joel Goldsmith music available, the better smile

I would love that box!

Especially Stargate Atlantis is excellent. A lot of Horner-like nineties action scoring. Is somebody already on it? :-)

I loved SG1 like few other TV shows. I'd blindbuy a set in an instant - the old GNP "Best Of Season One" disc only made it worse!

I never got into Atlantis when it was on air but I bought the series on DVD for a song this year. Maybe I'll take some time with it finally...

A disc full of Joel's SGU music is at the top of my want list! I loved that show!

If you don't have the Stargate Atlantis pilot album from Varese it is a terrific listen. It's what got me interested in SG-1 in the first place. I love Joel's music and would love to have more from any or all of these series. (The two movie SG-1 albums are another great couple of listens.)
