Playing this again, and "alternates" non-controversy aside (keep the original
CD...), this is fantastic.!
So which are the alternates? The takes on the Quartet or those on the original Capitol CD? I'd rather not keep both unless I absolutely have to.

Personally, I had the old Capitol CD but am only keeping it for posterity. The Quartet is the
one to play.
I liked to think I was familiar enough with the score, and these changes didn't exactly stand out for me - I still want to think the sound enhancement is so signifcant that hearing it anew is inspiring madness ;-)
But since Merry cites times, I was probably wrong about my initial thoughts on the new mix being so clear, in lieu of alternates being heard here.
As for 'Will the real cue stand up please?' - can't say, never have or probably will see the film.
