Yes, the love theme is a very romantic, also bittersweet waltz. The CD features various versions of all the themes (the ouverture also features them all). The love theme is always played by piano or orchestra or both. "Maria's Theme" is an earnest and gentle melody for Isabella Rosselini's character, played by flute and trumpet. "Adulterer's Blues" is the theme that gets the most thorough workout, performed by big band, by sax, by jazz band, sung by a capella wordless choir and one time by a female vocalist in a, how to say this, decidedly cheesy arrangement ("I love you for today"). It's a bit sleazy, a bit sultry, sometimes farcial. There's also another waltz bookending the movie as big band tune and french style waltz respectively. I think much of the score is actually in dance rhythms, giving the whole story a feeling of a round dance. Anyway, used to be one of my favourite soundtracks for a while. Very lovely. But hard to get I hear.
