I thought Desplat has long been attached to this new Christophe Gans film, but now IMDB is saying that it's Pierre Adenot providing the score, and a google search reveals that Film Music Reporter reported this back in October. Anyone know if Desplat left the project/was replaced? Or was his involvement just a rumor?

Also, is anyone familiar with Adenot's music at all?

Looks better than I thought it would.

I'd probably go, if it ever shows up here in San Diego.

Music sounds predictable, if the preview is any indication.

However, no one is ever going to top Jean Cocteau's version, which is definitive.

And, though the Disney cutesifies everything in sight, it still works, beautifully.

So this will have some pretty stiff competition to match.

The remake of a timeless classic (not the Disney!) - made by Christophe Gans, the director of Brotherhood of the Wolf. That can't end well.

Yes, Pierre Adenot is a great composer ! One of the best of his generation with Philippe Rombi and Alexandre Desplat. But sadly, not enough considered and employe.

I can not wait to hear his music for La Belle et La Bête ! smile

The big-eyed, Manga-like puppies look a bit disconcerting, and the beast is a little too Disney, but otherwise it looks wonderful, style-wise.

Well, the samples on Amazon fr. sound great and very much like Desplat...I think the movie was temped with his music but this could be a surprise! I think Quartet is releasing this. They should have announced their new batch by now.

although i would still prefer to see this older TV remake scored by Luboš Fišer released... actually one of the very few of his scores that survived until now...

Saw the movie today and I liked it. The music was very good as well, it had some really nice moments. I'm glad to have had this 2 surprises from Europe in just a couple of days difference. Yves Saint Laurent by Ibrahim Maalouf and now this score by Adenot. Both composers where unknown to me before this movies, I can't wait to hear more stuff from them in the future. This score has some real highlights with some dramatic writing and some fantasy elements, good stuff.

Same. Never heard of this guy but I've had this score for a few months and it's pretty good. Not Rombi good but pretty good all the same. Very open to recommendations!

L'Odyssée de Cartier
Music by Pierre Adenot

As Abel Korzeniowski has done for Tiffany and Co. and Nuno Malo for Sagres, Adenot has also composed some very nice music for this commercial.

Very nice.

Is anyone familiar with his scores for Kennedy et moi, Cantabile or Musiques pour les Films de Jean-Pierre Ameris?
I have just ordered three more CDs but I am curious about these three if they are worth picking up too.
