Sounds fantastic!

By the way: which score are those additional tracks on the soundcloud-side from? They are amazing as well!

Hard to say probably from everything anyone could ever imagine - from short films to commercials, etc...
Either way for more information check http://www.xiaotian-shi.com/

Thanks.. Still no idea^. Is it some reference to Thanksgiving? I'm not from the States, I don't know what weird things you all do in November. I can't think of anything else Novemberish.
Was he born in November? Was his family killed in a freak yachting accident in November? Honestly, I have no idea. Take pity on me, please.

Movember? Does he not shave??

Epilepsy Awareness Month??
Transgender Awareness Month?
Sweet potato Awareness Month?

Am I getting warmer?

Could someone please enlighten me??

I don't really get it either, but my guess is it's just about the year: once you pass through November you get into the harsh bleak winter?

Thanks.. Being from the Southern Hemisphere, that possible explanation escaped me.
November = time to go surfing!

Downloaded it from iTunes - very good, tension achieved through melody, sublety and intelligence.

Another reason why Marco Beltrami is currently one of the best film composers.

While the score is decent, I thought the movie itself was fantastic. Seriously, if you want to see how Pierce Brosnan might have played an R rated James Bond, go check this out. It has superb action scenes, tons of twists and turns and the best Brosnan performance since TAILOR OF PANAMA.

Very well written review, as always.

But I disagree.

unfortunately I have to pretty much agree with Jon.
It's like the score had no actual room to breathe and while it features several nice moments, those are just way too short to make bigger impression. It's still an OK genre score, but it is usual to expect way more from its composer.
Since my first listen I have no urge to get back to it and give it another listen - I certainly will give it a few more spins soon and my perhaps initial impression will improve just like Jack Ryan did - but right now I would rather spent whole day listening to The Giver than returning to November Man.

I am still curious about the movie - actually both of them - Giver finally opens here next Thursday.

It's a fine effort for the genre, and Beltrami writes action/thriller music as good as (and often better than) anyone else working today IMO. Compared to other action/thriller scores out there right now, November Man is a treat. Don't get me wrong, I really dig this score.

However, for Beltrami himself, in a year that produced The Giver, 1864, The Drop, Turn, and The Homesman -- with Woman in Black 2 and the brilliant The Seventh Son and The Coup recorded but not released until 2015 -- November Man is not the best of the lot.
