I happened upon the film "Joy Ride" on TV only a few nights ago and while it was nothing special, I quite enjoyed its silliness. But I remember thinking it would be interesting to see Walker in more serious roles than the ones I've spotted him in. Seemed to me he'd make a good character actor as he got older and less "pretty". Sadly we'll never know. Can't remember much about the music to "Joy Ride" apart from it being effective enough for the kind of film it was.

However, I've always championed Brian Tyler's score to the Paul Walker film The Lazarus Project. Maybe some of you will remember that because I take every opportunity I can get to mention it in hopes that this severely underrated and little-known (or little-heard) score can be discovered by others.
The Lazarus Project is a sensitive, haunting, beautiful meditative score that is powerfully evocative and impressively delicate, particularly for a Tyler score. It is a fitting tribute score to Paul Walker, and I will listen to it today in memoriam of the sadly passed actor. The film itself is easily my favorite Walker performance, I think it's his best work, and the music worked brilliantly in highlighting his thoughtful portrayal of a haunted and lost young man. Sadly and prophetically, it is about a young man who finds himself struggling with the confusion of his own afterlife and whether it is real.
We tend to do these threads as a tribute to the recently deceased, which is fine, I think. However, I would agree that the timing -- coming just a couple of hours after the death was announced on the news -- was a bit off.
I've been doing these for years whenever a celeb dies, and no one has complained before. I wish no ill will towards Walker. I wasn't especially a fan, but dying at age 40 is still tragic.

I must second this recommendation of The Lazarus Project.
I really liked Tylers score to Fast 4.The GPS chase music in particular was quite memorable.
As for the Walkers death.I truly was shocked and saddened to wake up to that news this morning.He was always a likeable screen presence and by all accounts a really nice guy in real life too.
Well, I don't agree. This is a celebration of the best scores from the films Walker starred in. No one has said a bad word about him. The thread is not called "Paul Walker's worst roles" or something like that, which indeed would have been in bad taste.
