TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26 KOJAK---Vin Diesel is the star/co-producer of the movie remake based on the Telly Savalas cop series that ran on CBS from 1973-1978. In reply to a fan's question about what director Diesel would like to work with next, Diesel replied on his Facebook page, "Kojak...New York..Ang Lee" It's not known if that means the Oscar-winning Lee (LIFE OF PI) is actually directing KOJAK or just wishful thinking on Diesel's part. The KOJAK movie script is being written by the team of Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (CASINO ROYALE, SKYFALL). X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST---video released showing Magneto's involvement in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Video link: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/26/x-men-days-of-future-past-hints-that-magneto-killed-jfk STAR WARS: EPISODE VII---Matt Smith (DOCTOR WHO) reportedly is in talks for an undisclosed role, and Jason Flemying said he auditioned for an undisclosed role. An inside source revealed a new role to be cast, "a 40-something military man a la Matt Damon in ELYSIUM." JJ Abrams jokingly commented on if C-3PO was joining R2-D2 in the sequel, "They have different agents." DOCTOR WHO---the BBC released a synopsis and poster for the Christmas special "The Time of the Doctor". "Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars - and amongst them, the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe." BREAKING BAD---Vince Gilligan commented on what happened to Jesse, "My personal feeling is that he got away. But the most likely thing, as negative as this sounds, is that they're going to find this kid's fingerprints all over this lab and they're going to find him within a day or a week or a month. And he's still going to be on the hook for the murder of two federal agents. But yeah, even though that's the most likely outcome, the way I see it is that he got away and got to Alaska, changed his name, and had a new life. You want that for the kid. He deserves it." THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2---Chris Cooper commented on his character, Norman Osborn, "[AMAZING] SPIDER-MAN 2 was an introduction to Norman. And — you'll see — an extremely odd introduction, which apparently will lead to something more." THE MALTESE FALCON---the only falcon statue that was confirmed to be in the classic 1941 Humphrey Bogart movie was sold at auction for $4,085,000. SYFY---midseason premieres of LOST GIRL, BEING HUMAN and BITTEN is on January 13. FROM DUSK TIL DAWN: THE SERIES---Wilmer Valderrama (THAT '70S SHOW) will play the lead villain in the 10-episode series based on the vampire movie. DAY OF THE DEAD---remake underway of the 1985 George Romero sequel with Mark Tonderai (HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET) as director. CAPTAIN KRONOS: VAMPIRE HUNTER---remake underway of the 1974 Hammer Films horror movie. Simon Oakes of Hammer said, "I've offered it to Ben Wheatley! I've told him Kronos is his whenever he wants it. You can put that in print! That might get him off his arse! [laughs] I'm a huge fan of Ben's. I told him, 'Whenever you want Kronos, it's yours, mate. Just get back to me.' And he never got back to me! So we'll shame him in print into doing it now!...People at Comic-Con always ask if we're doing a new one, and I always say, 'Yeah, we're doing Kronos!' and the blogosphere goes wild. So if we can find the right writer to reimagine it then that's what we'll do." KATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA---Peter O'Toole has come out of retirement to co-star in this movie about Katherine of Alexandria and Constantine the Great. Joss Ackland, Steven Berkoff, Edward Fox and Nicole Keniheart star. THE PRINCE---movie underway about an ex-Las Vegas hitman who returns to Las Vegas to find his missing daughter and clashes with old enemies. Bruce Willis, Jason Patric, John Cusack and Gia Mantegna star. STANDARD HAPPINESS PACKAGE---movie underway based on the short story about a man who is hired by a high tech company to experience pain for its clients. John Krokidas (KILL YOUR DARLINGS) is the director. LONGMIRE---A&E renewed the series for Season 3. STAN LEE---Lee, producer Avi Arad (SPIDER-MAN) and Sony Pictures are reuniting for a new undisclosed superhero movie. BILL & TED 3---Keanu Reeves commented on the sequel's status, "BILL & TED 3 is waiting for a rewrite from the writers, and we’re still trying to find a way to finance the film. We don’t have a director, we don’t have any money, so we’re trying to get a script. Maybe if we have a script, they will come, I don’t know." he added about possible future movies, "I would like to have played John Constantine again. I liked playing that character and there seemed to be a way to continue that. That’s the only one that comes to mind." UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT---Denzel Washington and Will Smith will apparently star in the remake of the 1974 comedy movie underway that starred Bil Cosby and Harry Belafonte. Nicholas Stoller (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL) is rewriting the script.

My gut tells me if you want to do a feature film, this is the guy to get for it. All I would suggest to him is go back to the original TV movie and look at that version of KOJAK as your jumping off point. Break a leg. Ford A. Thaxton
