I have been researching quite a bit to try and figure out where the bonus tracks on the special edition of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" soundtrack fit in with the film chronology. Can anyone help here? GJ449

"Dreaming Of Bag End", "A Very Respectable Hobbit", "Erebor", and "The Dwarf Lords" are theme presentations. Howard Shore wrote these types of presentations for all the themes, but these are the 4 that got recorded by the LPO and put on CD. Well, maybe others were also recorded, we don't know - but they haven't been released. "The Edge Of The Wild" is the original version of the music for the company traveling after leaving Rivendell (the revised version appears in the second half of Over Hill), followed by the original music for Gandalf and Radagast exploring the High Fells of Rhudaur, a sequence that was moved from Film 1 to Film 2 late in the post production process (it was originally intended that Gandalf went there after Rivendell before saving the company in Goblintown; Now he will travel there between leaving the party before they enter Mirkwood and rejoining them at Erebor). You can see a video of "The Edge of The Wild" synced to picture made by BloodBoal from JWFan right here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1NAd4WEjm_DN3JodGJPbDdEWDQ/ For comparison, see BloodBoal video showing the revised version of their journey here (jump to 2:16) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1NAd4WEjm_DZTMzTEpDOFJTMW8/ Hope that helps.

Yikes! I replied within 15 minutes and over 250 views later, the original poster hasn't popped back in nor has anybody else commented? Odd. I thought the videos were pretty cool, and the theme presentations are just wonderful... (I wish DOS SE OST had some too)
