Apart from "Crockett's Theme", what else would you recommend listening to?

LOL, I'm glad he didn't write this kind of stuff for Miami Vice! ;-)

He was 20 years old when he wrote this?!

That's a cool clip, Lokutus -- a side of Hammer we don't often talk about.

Chancre or Forever Tonight

You mean Chancer? I have searched for that theme forever, it was released on CD single in 1990, but I have never heard it. It's not even on youtube.

Well, I doubt he ever wrote anything similar again, even if the jazz style enters after a minute or so.

It's included as a bonus track on the CD release (or the re-release) of Escape from Television.

Holy cow! You're right! I guess the best thing is to buy the download of the track for £0.69 though..

I listened to 30 seconds on Amazon, sounded quite jolly, not the mystical MV sound.

I did mean Chancer, apparently I mistyped. I actually have the single you mention. Give me an email on the address in my profile.

The entire score for "Bushido," a stand-out episode from season 2 of Vice. There's one of those classic evocative punch-to-the-gut melancholy Hammer melodies, along with Japanese and Slavic flavorings used at appropriate moments. (And the eerie Bryan Ferry track, "Boys and Girls," which opens the episode, fits perfectly with Hammer's contribution.)

The music for "Shadow in the Dark" (season 3) - one of the best "night" episodes of MV - is another beaut. The 3 plus minute track on the Complete Collection captures its essence.

I like the cue "The Talk" from that episode.

From Jeff Beck's purely instrumental and brilliant album THERE & BACK is this track composed by Jan Hammer who plays on most tracks of the album. People of a certain age and from the UK will remember that this was used as the theme tune to early Channel 4 music show THE TUBE.

Well, for some reason the album track ain't showing so here's a live version....

The End track from Buddies before the song No Guarantees sets in is the best but do love The talk from Evan and the track Gina too...
Then i love Hammers music to the movies Dark Angel & The Taking of Beverly Hills too smile

Your links didn't post but I assume you mean "Star Cycle."
