Of all the various possible clues, what would most intrigue you?

A. All by the same composer! Still working today!

B. All by the same composer! (Who is no longer with us or retired)

C. All from the same movie series!

D. All from one TV show!

E. 8 different movies, 8 different composers, but all are from one genre and time period (For
example, they could all be film noirs from the 40's or all B pictures of the 50's sci fi period.)

I think this might be STAR TREK VOYAGER!

Trek, B:TAS, are next year.

There are so many TV series of old that coudl tantalizingly be it.

I asked him in an interview from 2010 about other TV shows he'd like to do, and he replied:

There are a few shows we would love to sink our teeth into. Shows like "Magnum, pi", "The A-Team" and "Space: Above and Beyond" are on the top of our list. I hope to see them come out some day, whether it be on La La Land or another label.

Since then we've seen S:A&B. One can only hope Mike Post will finallt get some long, LONG over due CD love. Countless TV series, many classics, not ONE score release -- just a couple theme compilations, with re-recorded tracks on them.

I've only spent that amount for one set and that was Superman. It would have to be something along the same lines (and no, LW is not there). It would have to be one of the big ones. I'm not really expecting that... but happy for those fans that the set is aimed for.

A boxset that is as epic as Friday the 13th and X-files have been so far!

I doubt it will be an obscure tv show or franchise else they wouldn't have risked 8 discs at once.

And yes, the wait is starting to annoy me slightly. big grin

It would depend on the composer, the movie series, the TV show, the genre, the time period, etc. The format of the box set doesn't interest me, as much as the content.

I would be surprised if its not something "big". Anything obscure would be terribly risky for an 8 disc box set. Star Wars trilogy? Indiana Jones Complete? Rocky?

I'd buy all three options.

MV said, January, 2011 here at FSM:
To make things easier on some of you here is a brief list of titles that we are not able to License at this time:

Contact
Superman Returns
Batman Begins
All Harry Potter's
1492
The Last Samurai
North By Northwest
Practical Magic
The Witches of Eastwick

We now know SR is coming (just don't know which label, but since LLLR was looking into it...)

And NBNw came out from Intrada (I guess at the time Intrada was trying to buy the rights but it wasn't finilized).

And TWoE is possible, but only after Perserverance Record's re-issue is sold out.

So, I think at this time we can still rule out Potter. And It's probably a safe bet that since Disney now owns Lucasfilm, which had Indiana Jones, that means if we ever proper treatments of the scores, it'll be Intrada. I don't have the quote handy, but one time maybe a year or two ago, MV said Disney was Intrada's territory.

And in 2009, when somebody pointed out what was a bootleg (but that person didn't know better) of Rocky scores coming, Roger said:
The scores are not controlled by the same legal entity, so I would be very surprised to see this thing materialize.

Didn't somebody say they were putting out Lethal Weapon? 4 movies + 2 CDs each = 8 CD boxset or it's Police Academy.

I don't want to get bogged down with guesses on the specific LLL 8 CD release coming. I meant my question to be very general .............Say year from now, you see a 6 CD set or a 7 CD set announced - which CLUE mentioned in the OP would excite you the most?

I Know this is extreme wishful thinking... and if it was, it would suck because i wouldn't to afford it for quite some time... but...

Is it possible the 8 disc set is the COMPLETE Dark Knight Trilogy? 2 discs (or 3 for one of the films) each for the scores and two (or 1) discs of alternates or demos. after all, Batman Begins was listed as a title that La La Land was trying to acquire the license for and they seem to be working a lot with Warner Bros. It's not too unreasonable to think it could this, could it?

So many titles have been thrown out there since this box set was announced. The one that stood out to me was a possible 'Young Indiana Jones Chronicles' box set. Varese Sarabande put out 4 volumes back in the early 90's so if those plus some new volumes were included that would fit the 8 cd box set description. Disney does not own the Indiana Jones series. That still belongs to Paramount. So, a Young Indy Box Set has now become one of my 'Holy Grails' and I am going to be nagging and asking when when when until it comes out now.

Since I do hope it is Tales From The Crypt then my answer would be option D.

A clue like this would make me go full teenage girl:

"Three elegant scores from a more civilized age..."

C. ROCKY
D. TALES FROM THE CRYPT
