Back in 2011, the Warner Archive Collection put ot Probe on DVD, a manufacture-on-demand (MOD) release of the pilot telefilm for the 1972 NBC series Search. Since then, fans have waited desperately for the studio to put out the actual TV series itself, which lasted for just a single season. Now, today, the Warner Archive has posted the below YouTube video, demonstrating that Search - The Complete Series is almost ready to be available from them as an MOD release! The item is not up for pre-order yet, so we don't have a date, cost, or any package image besides t

Following his legendary role as "Captain Kirk" on Star Trek (both in the live-action series of the late '60s and the animated series in the early '70s), and prior to resuming that role in 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture, William Shatner had another television role of note. No, we're not talking about T.J. Hooker (that wasn't until 1982, the same year Wrath of Khan hit theaters). We're referring to his role as "Jeff Cable" in the 1975 series Barbary Coast, of course! Shatner co-starred with Richard Kiel (who would soon come to fame as 007 nemesis "Jaws" in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker) and Doug McClure (co-star of The Virginian and Checkmate).

Now the folks at RLJ Entertainment are preparing (who release DVDs under the brand names of Image Entertainment, Acorn Media and others) are preparing a June 3rd release of Barbary Coast on DVD! This 4-disc set with English subtitles will be priced at $59.99 SRP. The short-lived series had 14 episodes, which included appearances by Michael Ansara, Lynda Day George, John Vernon, Bill Bixby, Pat Hingle, Lance LeGault, James Cromwell, Marcy Lafferty (Shatner's wife at the time), Joan Van Ark, William Daniels, Francine York, Martin E. Brooks, Joseph Campanella, Tige Andrews, Severn Darden, Gretchen Corbett, Bernard Fox, John Dehner, and Judy Strangis. Our thanks to reader David Makin for his help with this story.

Boy, I received my sets after ten years of waiting.

I watched the first two episodes and I was glad to discover a character-driven series,
well-written, well-directed and with some nice guest actors: Warren Oates and Lee Van Cleef.
The first episode is focused on Rowdy Yates (actor Clint Eastwood) double-crossing his boss after quitting and decides to work on his own and hires a ramrod named Weed (actor Warren Oates).
    Perfect cast.
The second episode was composed by Fred Steiner.

    Let's roll the episodes.

PS: Jimbo, they include the original CBS logo with the aperture.

No, Jim, all of "Rawhide"'s eight seasons were in B&W.

I'm carrying on my Rawhide season 7 and it gets better and better.
One episode entitled Piney is a proto-Mission: Impossible entry: amazing.

Jimbo, I advise you to get a close look at that "particular" season 7.
Forget the rest and only focus on that season.
