Bumping the thread to the top only to make it easier for me to relocate tonight when I do another spotlight (I really find the default setting of topics from the last day only annoying, because it means I have to reset every time I explore futher back, and when leaving it, I get automatically put back in the last 24 hours mode).
S1's "The Deadly Games Affair" gave Solo a THRUSH rival who could alternately romance and compete with him, in Janine Gray's Angelique.
At various points in this episode, Angelique joins forces with Solo, attempts to kill him with a bee planted in a carnation, ends up his fellow prisoner at the hands of Nazi baddie Alexander Scourby, tries to then steal Scourby's material for herself and THRUSH, and at episode's end is on her way with Solo to dinner as it's time for a truce.
A further look at Janine Gray, away from her UNCLE appearance. (other parts of her bio show her linked at one time to Broadway and sometimes film composer Cy Coleman)
Two famous Yum names graced two S1 episodes in the same roles, starting with "The Quadripartite Affair." As the damsel in distress-turned UNCLE recruit, the then-Mrs. David McCallum, Jill Ireland.
The villainess of the episode will be spotlighted later today!
Jon Bell earlier in the thread noted his admiration for the closing credits image of Stefanie Powers as April Dancer in fencing position. He should also appreciate these views of April Dancer in full-fencing action in the GFU episode "The Atlantis Affair."
As promised, an encore appearance for the two ladies of "The Quadripartite Affair" who returned four episodes later in "The Giuoco Piano Affair"!
Jill is none too pleased to be dragged out of her swinging party and get pressed back into service by UNCLE, but in the end, relents.
Anne Francis also returns as THRUSH villainess Gervaise Ravel.
End of the line for Anne! In more ways than one as this marked her last UNCLE appearance. Next year, she'd be graduating to action heroine in "Honey West"! (VCI will hopefully be releasing this on DVD later this year)

She was fine in her "Wild Wild West" cameo: "The Night of A Thousand Eye" and on the pilot of "The Rat Patrol". She had that Barbara Bain quality.
The soon-to-be former Mrs. McCallum made one more MFU appearance in S2, "The Tigers Are Coming Affair", this time as a French chemist/botanist ensnared in intrigue involving a crooked prince.
Broadway star and frequent "What's My Line?" and "To Tell The Truth" panelist Phyllis Newman (also the wife of composer Adolph Green), made a rare foray into TV for "The Arabian Affair", as an improbable Arab woman named Sophie with a determined eye to have Ilya as her slave!
Adding to the silliness is that in order to save himself from this fate, Ilya wins over the rest of the Arabs in the tribe by proclaiming himself to be the son of T.E. Lawrence!

And VCI now has the box art released for what will be a "Complete Series" set! (no release date though)
The Israeli actress made a number of US TV appearances from the late 50s to late 60s, with one of her final roles being King Tut's first moll Neferetiti in Season 1 of "Batman."

Now there's a series I was certain of they'd never release on DVD (maybe there's some hope for "Night heat" after all). Very good news. I love that show. The looks, the sounds, the class.
A double spotlight from S1's "The Bow-Wow Affair" on two women who are also notable Star Trek alumnae. Starting with Vina herself, Susan Oliver, playing the niece of a distant cousin of Mr. Waverly's (played also by Leo G. Carroll).
