And so the 2019/20 season starts, with the HOF game. We lost, but hey, none of our main players were even on the field. Useful for us to have the extra game in preseason for evaluating our new players. Looks like the Broncos future QB1 still has some work to do.
Looks like the Cowboys are including the beef this year, instead of leaving it to be trampled on by white-booted cheerleaders along the decorative mid-field entryway, enhanced with spark-emitting tubes and gaily festooned tchotchkes.
I only saw it last night on GamePass (too late for me to watch live here in the UK), and I've got a wretched cold with chronic headache at the moment so was watching in a haze of blurry eyes and throbbing brain pain hardly numbed by paracetamol. But the win was welcome
NFL has a fairly big (by minor UK sports standards) following. The fans can fill Wembley Stadium more than once over, and certainly can't fit into Tottenham's new stadium. A friend tried to get tickets for the Raiders game there this year and they had all sold out in minutes, a bit like the John Williams tickets for his Royal Albert Hall concert a little while back.
I've just watched 'Concussion' and can see how the slow loss of interest in the game at school and college level due to CTE worries is beginning to affect things, though I think it will last a good long while yet.
Looks like our safety Keanu Neal is out for the season with an achilles injury. Second year on the trot, and will not help us as the season progresses.

!!!!!! The Raiders can't even fill their home stadium in Oakland California!

Likely a sell out in UK because its a novelty. Only a few NFL games are played over there per season. NHL is starting to do the same thing now.
I lost interest when they kept changing the definition of what a "completed pass" was every year, and still do! It was simple enough in the 80's and 90's for Pete's sake. And now someone is injured on ever damn play. Run a play, stop the game. Run a play, stop the game, over and over.
