I got my shipping notice today. With the Christmas postal surge and international mailing times, I don't expect it'll arrive till the new year now, but it's good to know it's on the way.

Cheers

I'm still waiting for my shipping notice.

These Are the Voyages Season Three is now available and I've just ordered that too.

No wonder I haven't received mine yet. It was on the Fedex truck!!

I like the white box at lower right labeled "Fragile".

I finally got my Christmas present, pictured here with a CD for scale for those who haven't received theirs yet. I'll dive in over the Christmas break.

Well, my copy finally arrived this morning, with only the most minor bruise to the bottom right-hand side of the front cover (which pretty much puts it at mint condition in my book because I learned a long time ago that books never arrive completely undamaged in the mail unless they've been packaged like they're intended for launch into low Earth orbit). I still say the way Creature Features handled these orders was an embarrassment, but Preston Neil Jones walks away from this unscathed and with plenty to be proud of. This powerhouse tome clears over 600 incredible pages! I can't fathom that it took this long to finally see publication! Oh, and please add me to the voices expressing interest in an ebook edition. Honestly, I don't even buy paper editions of books anymore; RETURN TO TOMORROW was an exception due to its extremely limited nature, but as far as I'm concerned, the e-reader is the greatest invention of our young century.

Have any started landing in the UK?

Mine hasn't arrived yet but I'm not complaining. Just still patiently waiting. Curious to see if any others have landed in the UK yet though.

Cheers

I'm in Belgium and mine arrived this morning.
A pleasent surprise because I never received a shipping notice and so I wasn't expecting it.

Mine arrived in the UK this morning. It's a thing of beauty. A very quick skim of the Goldsmith interviews reveal some VERY interesting insights!

And mine this afternoon (Florida not UK wink). Perhaps we can all graduate to sharing the book proper and our own VERY interesting thoughts in the coming weeks. I'm kinda psyched!

I'm really excited to get mine. I was notified that a shipping label was created but for some reason the package hasn't actually gone out yet (they sent me a tracking number). Luckily I have a Christmas present that will show up before this belated birthday present!

Man, I totally forgot about that particular Cafe Press store. smile I'm getting back into B5 again (sold the DVDs years ago, now I'm finally re-buying the repackaged slim versions)... and the last thing I need to do is spend even more money!

On the other hand, CBS/Paramount could make a killing selling official Star Trek convention DVDs with transcripts and all the other bells and whistles.

Mine showed up today along with a hard back edition of James Blish's "STAR TREK 12", which I had won on eBay.

And as I do my afternoon's writing, I'm listening to JG's motion picture score.

It's all a bit Trekky in my house right now.

OK 's time to put thy money (why I oughta--there's not much of THAT left it's pretty much all going to Kritzerland these days) where thy mouth is, Mr. L.

From FOREWORD (2014):

"On the other hand, we have decided not to abridge it."

Good. I always enjoy a roadshow version as The Creator originally intended vs. one that only bean counters, backers and haters of watermelon have in mind. Because they have only one thing in mind.

"We now deliver you to a future that was created in the past--told as if we were in the present."

Oh that LK sure knows how to turn a good phrase. It reminds me of a line from Camelot that entranced me as a kid, re Merlin: He doesn't age. He youthens. He can remember the future so he can tell you what you'll be doing in it.

This is going to be a fun read. It already is.

From ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS (1999):

"Sadly, a number of people who shared their memories with my tape recorder are no longer around to read their words on these pages. The most recent such loss was one of the film's stars, DeForest Kelley."

This line reads with added poignancy "in the present" what with the death of Leonard Nimoy just a few days ago. And it's clear early on that our dear friend who once fancied himself as a "simple, country doctor" left the most enduring impression out of all of 'em on PNJ.

And oh my, Creator Jones, we seem to be on the same page from an earlier reply on this thread:

...It was, as usual, all about the people. Oh, the chemistry! For some reason DeForest Kelley has proved the focal point for me. I think it has something to do with the alternate hot-headedness, humor and warmth of his McCoy.

I'll need more time to nail this all down. Am sure the book will be a tremendous help.

Again, it already is.
