Well, since everybody's clueless, here's the answer. Herman Stein ghost-wrote some of the music for the Boris Karloff-narrated TV classic HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS. Stein's friend Eugene Poddany was hired to composed the score, but he needed Herman's help on the assignment.

Long before Elvira: Mistress of the Dark there was Monster Movie Matinee. Monster Movie Matinee aired Saturdays at 1:00 a.m. on WSTM-TV and WSYR TV Syracuse New York from 1964 through 1980. I always like the opening theme but have no idea who composed it. Would anyone out there know who it was?
