The most amazing thing, listening to the score, is that I can actually remember and tell what parts of the show the music is from!

I'm hearing a lot of pushback on Smith. I don't get it. I think she's so effective she's almost too much. The only reason you know she's as crazy as she is is because you are the audience. From the character's perspective she's frighteningly believable.

OTOH, we're faced with the same dilemma that hijacked the original series: How do you keep a character like this around?

I loved this show so much. I want more, now.

I'm only two episodes in and I don't have a clue who this character is, what shes done, what her issues are. You need to set up the story and characters first. I'm sure they get to that, but at this moment in time, shes just creepy and I don't know why. It's bad storytelling. And before anyone says it, no I don't need it all explained up front. But you need a hook, some reason to engage in the character. And of course she's not Doctor Smith at all

Why must the character be set up from the get-go, solium? Don't you think there's any value in peeling off layer after layer throughout the season? I, personally, prefer the latter approach.

They do explore her. Bit by bit as the series goes along. They don't tell you everything, nor should they, but you get a good sense of her instability by the time the last episode ends. We already know more about her and what makes her tick than we ever learned about the original Smith, who was never more than "saboteur for hire" at best and "shrieking trouble-making man-child" at worst.

I had a great time with this and the music was fabulous. So much effort went into every aspect of this series.

Maybe I said this on the other side of the board. I don't need it all spelled out for me upfront. But you have to set up the characters. Six episodes in and I find June Harris (AKA Dr. Smith) a pointless antagonist. Her actions hardly makes sense, and I find some of her decisions rather stupid even for her own self preservation. Thus far she's just some psycho chick who does randomly psycho stuff.

Now the positive. I finished watching episode six and that BLEW ME AWAY! It's the first episode that I really got into the characters and into the series on an emotional level. I hope there's more of that to end the series.

Is the soundtrack in order of the episodes? I don't think so, isn't " Will and Robot" from episode six? "Family chores Fugue" is from episode one or two.

@ Machionic - Thxs for the breakdown. I guess I confused "Will and Robot" with "Ultimate Sacrifice".

Good question. I just pulled the trigger on the Itunes version. I'm quite enjoying Lennertz work.

Only one episode in on the show.

So far, this has been one of my favorite pieces of music from the new Lost In Space Netflix series. On the verge of getting crushed by a glacier, the Jupiter 2 blasts free. At the apex of the scene, composer Christopher Lennertz uses John Williams classic 3rd season theme to wonderful effect. It just made me grin when it kicks in.

According to Amazon this is getting a UK Cd release in August. I wonder if it will be in a jewel case instead of a digipak? Just like when Beltrami’s Logan appeared in the UK

It's GORGEOUS. I loved season 1 and I loved the music but I didn't listen to it by itself very much. I've been listening to this almost non-stop for the last two days. John and Judy is a particular favorite.

Seeing Star Wars today, Lost in Space drops next week. Then Doctor Who.

Best. Nerd. Christmas. EVER!

Wait, is season 2 out already? I can't find it on Netflix.
