The simple fact however is that he compromised and bowed down to Rick Berman's unreasonable wishes.

Yes, that's what one does in the real world. The people that sign your checks get to tell you what to do. I suspect a lot of people on this forum make money by doing what others tell them to do (i.e. "compromising" and "bowing down").

Exactly. Free will exists only when you run your own business. If you are an employee (and which to remain such), you deliver what is asked of you. McCarthy, a fine composer, got himself an 18 year gig, and he was still able to push out loud, hard driving music after Generations. Considering the first two or three seasons of TNG had louder, more thematic music, the "droning" era lasted a mere 5 out of 18 years. The scores for DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise were bolder. And there were still some gems scattered in the post-Roddenberry producing years of TNG.

"Art" is wonderful, but it seldom pays the rent.

I`d love to get the music from Starfleet Command officially, but I`ll have to abide with my supplementary mp3 collection via my ownership of the game. Great stuff; the release is too expensive for me right now, particularly when my focus would be solely the game scores (the Academy score would be interesting).

In going through the clips and online notes, I am amazing the thematic and motivic continuity that Jones brought to his TNG music. Keeping in mind that I know this show backwards and forwards, how cool it is to discover that a theme he composed for Wesley becoming an actual ensign in "Menage a Troi" is revisited in his departure episode, "Final Mission"? I recognized it once I heard the clips again, but never made this connection over the years. Combined with his recurring Klingon, Romulan and Borg themes and other smaller motifs, it really does give his TNG scores the feeling of a very long, inter-related and intricate work, akin to Williams' six Star Wars scores.

SAE- We apologize for the inconvenience but there was an error with the postage and handling unit value for this box set. This is a large and heavy box set so the cost adjustment need be made. This will ship as 10 disc units of postage like the non-autographed set.

The additional shipping cost will be added to the pending orders. If you are not okay with this please contact us for cancellation and a full refund.

So I'm only getting 10 discs out of 14? That's weird to pay more for shipping and lose four discs out of the deal, and maybe the autograph as well if they make another mistake. It's even weirder when the non-autograph set is still listed as 14 discs, so where are the four discs going?

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong. Maybe when they say 14 discs, they mean that four discs in the set are now double sided. It can't mean that they shipping 14 discs in a 10 discs shipping package. Why would they do that? Wouldn't that crush the box if anyone even handles them? Whatever I'm getting, I hope it has a "FRAGILE" or a "HANDLE WITH CARE" sticker on it.

RIP ST:TNG The Ron Jones Project. Sorry they cut ya short at the last minute.

You're getting the whole thing. It's just that shipping costs as much as 10 regular CDs, which apparently was accidentally not reflected in the original sale of the autographed copies.

And that is why I'm ordering from MovieMusic.com

$3 shipping to the US, or $1 if you buy two other CDs along with it.

Terra Epon,

Peter will most likely be adjusting the price accordingly also.

I got the same email but it doesn't bother me, it shouldn't be too much more.

From what I could tell, it is about 8 bucks more...give or take a dollar.

I thought that the 7.1 $ shipping cost was low but figured it was a pre-order discount. I just checked the regular box's shipping cost and it amounts to 26 $... which is a big difference (!!). But considering SAE didn't charge extra for the signed boxset, I'll bite the bullet on this one.

Why can't they just beam it over? wink

It only means that the postage charge for this set, autographed or not, is equivalent to that which they'd normally charge if you ordered 10 individual CDs.

Carriers inspect packages for these stickers and handle them differently, for the same price. wink

Lukas, is it true what one of the AICN posters wrote, that if you buy this set you'll never have sex?

Ha! I ordered this set, but I already had sex, so there!

But wait - does it also mean that if I order this set I will never have sex again?

What if I cancel my order? Am I good then? Or is the damage already done?

Damn, why does this have to be so difficult!!?

I see Dark Delicacies has their copies in for the signing this weekend, does that mean the rest will be shipping here soon?

Hope that doesn't fall through. I've been dyin' (well not really) to hear this music. I'm glad I was able to snag a signed copy from SAE.
