I purchased the Blue Box at full price when it came out. But most of the music isn't something I find myself going back to. I play the first score on a semi regular basis, Sup 2 on rare occasions when I am in a mood to hear more music from the series. The rest I've spun once and never gone back to again. TBH, I would even go so far as to admit that when I had the Rhino 2-disc set, I listened to disc 1 far more than I listened to the second disc. I much preferred the Krypton/Smallville/Fortress of Solitude material over the "flying around saving California" stuff. I appreciate those who have been cheerleaders for II-IV as well as the 1988 animated series, but I really just want an updated stand-alone release of the 1978 film score. Oh, and I am another who loves Zimmer's score for MAN OF STEEL. It's among my favorites of all time. I LOVE the Donner Superman II (both versions), III was good, haven't seen IV. And hey, finally someone else loves Man of Steel! That score was so thrilling to me, and how it worked with "Flight" on the film; "Terraforming"...love that one. I love both the Williams and the Zimmer.

How about a 3CD including original album remastered? My first LP soundtrack. I'd love to have it on CD.

As an owner of the Blue Box, I would happily give permission for any re-release of the score to be immediatly cancelled, if it meant I couold see the moive on the big screen....just once.... Last Sunday night the extended 3 hour TV version was shown on the big screen at the Hayden Orpheum cinema in Sydney.

A new SUPERMAN edition would most likely look like the Rhino set, but in Blue Box sound quality. It's possible they would go to a 3-disc set, like STAR TREK: TMP, and include the Extra disc tracks on a short, third CD. I'd love to know if they could find additional tracks weren't in the Blue Box. A 2-disc SUPERMAN II would have room for all the Extra tracks, plus the 38:08 LP program, which differs from the film version.

As far as SUPERMAN scores go, SUPERMAN is the classic, John Williams' score is a masterpiece. I also like 3, which is more original than 2 (which is basically just what Elmer Bernstein did for his own score for THE RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. Interestingly, if I were to ship the Blue Box from Screen Archives to the EU right now, it says it costs 72,50$ for trackable shipping! Holy cow! Anyone said shipping costs don't matter? :-o So I can understand those who would like a stand alone release. Though I think the Blue Box, while expensive, is probably the final word as far as I'm concerned for these classic scores.
