On Facebook James had said it's two scores by the same composer. But I wonder what of the remaining Barry scores would be even better than Mr. Moses? Color me intrigued! Yavar

Anyone who hasn't bought The Salamander is an idiot. Well, I have bought THE SALAMANDER and other Tadlow/Prometheus re-recordings, and I will continue to do so. Wish more people would, so more of these recordings could be produced. :-)

I'd rather get expanded original recordings for those scores presuming they survive. I believe MV said there were complications with The Reivers and that The Cowboys is controlled by Varese (let's hope they start doing Deluxe Editions of older scores again.) James Fitzpatrick himself has said that he was keen to do a complete Dracula but he heard tapes were found (these were later said by someone else in the biz to only be mono, so maybe there's still a good case for a new recording). What I really want is a complete new recording of my favorite Williams score, Jane Eyre from 1970. It is a glorious composition and it could really use expansion and better sound quality. For whatever reason however, James has said he has no interest in doing that one. I think that though the half hour album is not the complete score (I think there is almost 20 min. missing) he believes it is a more than satisfactory representation. I guess I'm actually with Thor on this one: assuming tapes no longer exist, I'd ilke a complete recording of the lovely but totally unreleased Story of a Woman. Yavar

I'm still longing for a complete "The Devil and Daniel Webster" -- also a complete "Endless Night." They'd also do a great job with "Hangover Square." So I guess I am hoping for more Herrmann eventually.

I too would love a Jane Eyre complete recording, or Story of a Woman (license permitting!).

it was and is Luc who is not overly keen ...... Got it. Well fortunately there are some things he likes more and some things you like more and we lucky consumers get to have both. I was with you on Fall of the Roman Empire until I heard the Tadlow recording so I'm glad he cared enough to finance the recording and revise both our opinions of the score! Yavar

Aha! I was reading up on some old Tadlow threads walking down memory lane about how excited people were for things like the new Lawrence recording. Lo and behold, I found what I was looking for. I was starting to doubt my memory, but it's you who posts under "Tadlow", not just "JamesFitz", right? http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=3&threadID=67226&archive=0 "The original Capitol soundtrack was a very good representation of the JANE EYRE score....so not really worth while doing a "complete" version." Not to call you out or anything -- I am super happy that your opinion has evolved over the past six years! I remember getting a similar reply from Roger F. many years ago about him thinking QBVII's album was a very good representation of that score, and there not really being a whole lot of unreleased music that was very different from what was on the album. I'm so glad that didn't stop you and Luc. Yavar
