Holy forgotten obscurity alert, Batman!

Bernstein scored the pilot of this TV series (as well as doing the theme):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOnh5hwhEmc

"Music Composed and conducted By"

It's missing from his IMDb page. I just submitted it. IMDb changed their submission process somehow and now I don't have to wait two or three days --- credits will often appear within one hour.

Check out this groovy music.

Doing a quick look, he also scored some more season one episodes as well. I've submitted them to IMDb.

If anybody is curious about Elmer Bernstein's terrific unreleased score for Al Pacino's excellent drama "Chinese Coffee," here's the End Title:

Where's Jack was an excellent score from late 60s released on Paramount Records. To my knowledge there has never been a legit cd release. Where's Where's Jack?

His rejected score to HARRY IN YOUR POCKET would be interesting..

No rejected score for that film. You might be confusing it with another film; he has like thirteen or so scores not used. Unless somebody wants tell me some liner notes say otherwise.

Ditto: THE INCREDIBLE SARAH, great late-70s score for a terrible film. Never released.

I know I still need to complete the first post in this thread; it's just a bit overwhelming of a task because of how prolific Elmer was, combined with less of his music being released as compared with say Jerry. (Plus some of you may have noticed the Goldsmith Odyssey podcast I started with some friends almost two years ago now; that takes up a lot of time.) In any case, I wanted to belatedly note the new Intrada premiere release of Elmer's lovely score to The Amazing Mr. Blunden!

Yavar, as and when you do get round to pre-1979, there's this 1971 short subject documentary to include - (I did provide the link to this in another thread but this page is perhaps more appropriate - and I believe Justin has had it added it to the Bernstein filmography on the imdb).

Cool, thanks!

I was going to go by Elmer's website works list (at https://elmerbernstein.com/).

Cape Fear -- adaptation/conducting of Herrmann's original score for the 60s film. Universal-distributed...I'm holding out hope Intrada or LLL might get around to either or both of these

Do we know if there was much music in the re-make that did not make it to the CD?

Has "On the Waterfront" been expanded?

Where have you been?

LLL released a 3 3cd Expanded, Deluxe, Archival edition last year!

Puppies For Sale was a charming little tale, one of the final credits of Jack Lemmon. The film was only nine minutes long. Bernstein wrote an original piano score for it - I would assume he played the piano himself. Because of the brevity and relative obscurity of it, I wouldn't imagine this will come to a CD anytime soon (though, stranger things have happened!)

It appears some enlightened soul has contributed the short film Puppies For Sale to Youtube -

A more interesting one would be " What scores are unreleased?"

All those expansions...
I must say I dig' em too..but there are a lot expansions out where you can see why they left out some specific cues in the early soundtrack presentations.
Or they are repeating...like DICK TRACY for example.

Well, did you think of the fact that not everyone who buys these expanded soundtracks might not own the original release. I am a soundtrack collector who actually have some expanded soundtracks to soundtracks that I originally missed. I am one of those who do not have the original Dick Tracy release so because I missed that I might get the expanded now when it is released.

Thanks for posting this, James. What a sweet short film. I like Bernstein's jaunty early music in this very short film and then the lovely melody that occurs about half way through the film.

I miss Lemmon and Bernstein.
