I don't get why the sells didn't went to the roof ! Everytime something on Buffy is out people rush onto it, maybe the price I don't know. "Too expensive" but they spend a fortune in figure or ridiculous plates. To me a fan love everything in a show, music comes like in second place ! Maybe the info was not enough seen. A blu-ray release will be very cool thought but it will be the fail remastered I guess....WHAT Joss whedon is doing !! For me too, this box set was the best piece of Buffy merchandise put out since forever. I am not sure how this CD box set is selling overall, apparently it's not a smash success like The X-Files, but I assume it must have sold better than other LLLR titles. I initially thought this set would sell out fast, since the Buffy fandom usually is so dedicated. Now that it seems like it won't sell out anytime soon, I can only explain it to myself as follows: 1.) Not everyone who would buy it knows about the box set's existence. 2.) The price. Some fans have to wait before they can buy it. Not everyone has the budget for it right away. 3.) Some fans simply don't buy CDs anymore and would probably prefer a digital release. and the most painful ones: 4.) The Buffy fandom has dissolved and/or is not as big as I originally thought. 5.) There are not as many fans of the score among Buffy fans. I don't want the last two to be true though. But then again, if the hints at a potential Angel release are any indication and an Angel set is really on the way, then I don't think we need to bury our hope for a potential second volume. Because an Angel set will definitely not sell as well as Buffy, I think. So, let's keep fingers crossed. I often fantasize about getting access to a dropbox folder with ALL cues used in the show. It makes me feel good. Cristobal Tapia de Veer, the composer for the first season of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, once shared a short video of his Dirk Gently music folder on Twitter and I was literally going insane, wishing he would just put it online. I always find it nice when composers put their music onto their websites as a promo, especially when it's unlikely that they are going to get proper releases. Jeff Beal put his entire second season score of Carnivale on his website back in the day and to this day, I am so happy that he did that, because the music was so awesome. I too would buy Dollhouse...but would like an Angel 4 disc set first. Yavar I would buy a Dollhouse one too. But that's one that I file under "very unlikely", as the show itself hasn't even really grown a cult audience and is by far the least popular among all of Whedon's shows. I really loved the surreal tone of the score of Dollhouse, I particularly loved the music in "A Spy In The House Of Love". At least Rob Simonsen put up some cues on his website. The Alpha/Whiskey one was really nice.

I get why they feel that way since I kind of feel the same. I mean, the boxset is pricey ($60!) PLUS a huge part of it is already available on "The Score" (not counting the unofficial scores). Sure, it sounds better than ever but I'm not sure that's enough to everyone. All the cues from season 4 are on the old CD, very few people are interested in the movie's score, and so on. I think for any true Buffy fan, there is still enough new material on the box set to outbalance any disappointment from having previously released tracks on it though. I mean, just the much wanted previously unreleased Wander tracks alone would be enough to lure fans of the music, I think. And I think another thing to keep in mind is that not everyone did have the music from the PROMO CDs. And honestly, just the design of the box set itself, including the booklet, is much much nicer than the last score CD. Too bad the Buffy Facebook page is ignoring it. I guess they don't want to make advertisement for merchandise that they don't sell in the fancy 20th Century Fox Online Shop? A little bit baffling though, because the box set obviously is official Buffy merchandise approved by FOX. I am still hopeful that LLR will release a second volume 2-4 years in the future (if the Disney deal doesn't prove to be an obstacle). If I look at their library of titles on the website, I see many titles that I assume would sell fewer units than Buffy. But who knows.

Perhaps the Buff' Buff' Box was too slow a burner and made him reconsider "angel", since that will inevitably not move as many units.

Honestly, even with the "hints" (which was really just one of the CD producers saying that there should be a thread for Angel - not a lot to go by, could also just mean he's a fan himself and loves people discussing the music), I always thought LLR had enough other titles in development before they could even get to work on an Angel soundtrack. And after all the Buffy anticipation and postponing of the soundtrack release with us fans getting impatient and bugging them about it, I don't think they would even tell anyone until it's officially a go and close to their scheduled release date. Thus, if their answer to you was "maybe one day", then I'd say, it doesn't mean that it is not coming somewhere down the line, it just means it won't come in the near future. So, let's hope for the best and hope that they will be doing it in 2-4 years (and before my death), along with more Buffy. I just hope the Buffy set is selling well enough to not dissuade them from doing more Buffyverse stuff.

Perhaps the Buff' Buff' Box was too slow a burner and made him reconsider "angel", since that will inevitably not move as many units. IDK, the autographed copies were gone pretty quickly though. Meanwhile, some of the other titles they released in the last few months still have autographed copies available on their website. But then again, I don't know the numbers, projections, license fees and whatever else goes into the release of soundtracks and what makes them a success. As I recall, he said it wasn't moving quickly, but he continued to believe it would be a slow burner.

Would be awesome to have a Angel release next year though. It's the shows 20th anniversary

Would be awesome to have a Angel release next year though. It's the shows 20th anniversary Let's not hold our breathe. lol I am not even sure we're getting the Entertainment Weekly Cast Reunion for that. Though I would love for them to give Angel the same treatment they gave Buffy. David, Charisma, Alexis, J, Amy, James, Stephanie Romanov, Christian Kane, Vincent Kartheiser in the same photo, holding pictures of Andy Hallet and Glenn Quinn? Yes please. As I recall, he said it wasn't moving quickly, but he continued to believe it would be a slow burner. He said that, but he was asked how it moved compared to X-Files, which has been like such an insane top-seller that it warranted three more box sets, another box set in development and further soundtracks for the two movies and the new limited series.
