No, no, no -- nothing from "The Orville" compares to "Code of Honor".
And this was way better than "The Naked Now". Having said that, it's still one of the worst of the season. But it's not out-right terrible.
When I found out that blue guy was going to be back (one of the worst aspects of the pilot), I knew this episode was going to be a stinker. I'd be a happy Orville fan if we never saw him again. Maybe his shuttle gets hit by an asteroid (while Jar Jar Binks is in it...). And re-using that same lame blue liquid gag AGAIN??? It's wasn't funny the first time!

No it wasn't even funny the first time. And what was it supposed to be? Alien ejaculation? WTF?!
After a few forgettable episodes I thought over all this latest was one of the better episodes. The 2D world was kinda cool, though ironically reminded me of Tron. (A 3D world) The back story and interchange between Mercer and Grayson was well done- if not cliched.
The weakest story lines remain with the weakest characters. Yaphit isn't quite Jar Jar Binks, but his jokes and character falls flat everytime. It's always a showstopper when he's (it) is on screen. I also immensely hate how they are handling LaMarr. He just comes across as the stereotypical lazy, unmotivated, trouble making black dude. Is Seth a closet racist?
I continue to be amazed at all the “beauty shots” of the Orville spaceship. They keep coming up with interesting ways of filming the model. I always get a few good laughs from each episode. It keeps me coming back for more.
I can't believe I didn't notice this before - and apologies if someone above me already has - but Bruce Broughton's main theme is spectacularly similar to Elmer Bernstein's main theme to Spacehunter Adventures in the Forbidden Zone.
