... hmm, what happened - I returned to this score when re-ordering my collection, started to listen to it... and suddenly started appreciating it, liking, even beginning to love it. Makes me want to watch the movie again. Maybe I was totally wrong panning it, being too much influenced by my expectations of it being more like the original. In any event, I'm publicly eating my hat on this one. As a New Year´s resolution I should vow to wait judging scores too early, allowing myself to familiarize with them, giving them more chances and get rid of these damned expectations of what a piece of art should be.

Agree, you can't judge a full package by film, cinema, its normally the opposite when you have the score in hand, I don't rag scores like I do films, guess that's the nucleus though.

I have to admit, I've listened to this soundtrack so many times these past few months, it's as if I've listened to nothing else and is clearly my most listened-to score of 2017. It's no Vangelis Blade Runner, but it must be doing something right.

I listened to the MP3 of the score once on my car stereo system on my way home from work and was surprised by how much I enjoyed the score on its own. I've seen the movie and did not notice how diverse the music actually is. It's an immense and quite nuanced soundscape. May not be for everyone, but I very much enjoyed the quite original and melancholy musical tapestry. Vangelis' Tears in Rain near the end grows organically out of the music, and songs by Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra take up the function"One More Kiss, Dear" had in the Vangelis score. My "limited" (haha) edition has finally arrived; nice cover, though, I may just keep it. Don't know about the sound distortions yet, have to check.

The track ‘SEAWALL’ is just amazing with those waves of sound surging over you. Indeed, a blast!

The track ‘SEAWALL’ is just amazing with those waves of sound surging over you. Indeed, a blast! Fabulous track. The whole score is quite impressive. I did not have high hopes when Zimmer became attached but was most pleasantly surprised at what I heard. I believe this is one of those rare scores that actually benefits from having a "loud" sound. I saw the film in an IMAX theater twice and reveled at the sounds and music washing over (and through) me. Still, as much as I love this score....then you have Vangelis' score for the original. I've nearly blown up iTunes from having played Blade Runner Blues so many times. Now that piece of music is sublime.

....and folks here complain about DUNKIRK being nothing more than "sound design?". Gimme a break!

There is deliberately distorted LOUD guitar. Is that the source of complaints?
