West Brom-Burnley today in the "Who Cares?" Derby but Monday is Stoke-Newcastle which is always worth a look regardless of how either side is faring.

Tuesday and Wednesday is Champions League time once again! Woopeeeeee!

PSG-Barcelona, Man City-Roma, FC basel-Liverpool, Sporting-Chelsea, Arsenal-Galatasaray. However, the most intriguing match for me is Atletico Madrid-Juventus, not that you parochial types care about football outside of Old Blighty. wink

West Bromwich and Burnley are 114 miles apart. It might be a derby in the USA... smile

And football outside Blighty is a game played at walking pace by effete foreigners who fall down if another player comes within ten feet of them.

It's a derby of the state of mind--and the table--which knows no such geographical limitations. smile

Yeah, yeah...England invented football but other countries perfected it blah blah blah. wink

Well maybe not spanked but Newcastle lose 1-0 today. Victor Moses is playing so much better on loan at Stoke than he was when he suited up for Liverpool, also on loan IIRC.

I'm back from my long weekend break at my palatial holiday home, so didn't get to see much football. I did see the Merseyside derby unfortunately, two poor looking teams I thought. Things need to improve quickly, and Mario needs to do some shooting practice.

I also appear to have missed your birthday Bill old boy, so belated greetings to you...wink

Of course it's still quite early in the season, but in looking at the current table, it looks like Southampton (13 points, 2nd place) sold off the right players to Liverpool (7 points, 14th place).

Once again--it's quite early. smile

The news is, Pardew to stay at Newcastle. I'm not surprised, he has a fair few years still to go on his contract, & was saying last week that managing Newcastle is the best job in football - in other words, I'm not going, so if you want to sack me you can pay me!

I *knew* something "tragic" had to have happened for you boys not to mention thread-favorite Manchester City dropping points at home in their Champions League match vs. Roma. Those powder blue idiots got "Tottied". City looked piss poor in the back four--hey, that rhymes--and were often stretched defensively by their Italian opponent.

Plus there was that "deeply" human story of Frank Lampard having to go against old mate Ashley Cole. Oh, the fooking tragedy of it all.

Getting ready to watch Arsenal-Galatasaray. Looks like the female Galatasaray supporters stayed home.

again??! well, Our Zoo was on tv, maybe they stayed in to watch it.

yeah both man city and roma had exactly the same number of englishmen in their starting line- ups = 1.

channel hopping boredom tonight. both games look fairly tedious.

might watch Peaky Blinders recorded or maybe finale of Ray Donovan.

Those Turks will regret not bringing along their women; they'll need their dames to console them during their copious blubbering since Arsenal have smashed them in this match, as the Gunners lead 4-1. Danny Welbeck has the game of his career as his hat trick puts away the team with the throwing-flares-on-the-pitch fans.

Is this where I chime in with my obligatory comment about the USMNT being half Kraut?wink

Poor from Liverpool last night. Had a few chances, no cutting edge. Bad goal to concede as well, can't defend corners for love nor money. Next 2 games are the double header against Ronaldo's Real Madrid, can't say I'm looking forward to them.

And with each passing game, I'm wishing WE had bought Ross McCormack (scorer/hard-worker) instead of Ballotelli (insert expletive).

Please do. Just don't throw any flares on the pitch like those retrograde Galatasaray idiots did during the match. wink [Note to Turks and Algerians: Just bring one woman to the matches fer cryin' out loud! ONE! big grin]

The way Liverpool have been playing just shows how important Luis Suarez was to this team. If they flame out in the CL, they can always focus on finishing sixth or lower in the Premier League.

Or even Danny Welbeck at this rate! Like that link you posted, 'The Sound of Silence' just about sums things up!!
