For those of us who don't possess the total recall of, say, the average Monty Python obsessive, could you boys include the name of the film your quotes come from?

For example:

"May the Force be with you."

~Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

Thanks in friggin' advance.

Mine was from Lawrence of arabia. If im quoting some unknown average/crap film then i would put the title.
On a website full of film afficionados it shouldnt be necessary to label a classic film.
If you dont know it, you should be ashamed.!!

You should do, it's great. Peter O'Toole & Audrey Hepburn get together to steal this little statue in Paris, but I can't remember the scene where that line comes from.

Scandalous jim. Probably 1 of the best 20 movies ever made. For cinematography and editing alone, its a masterpiece. Let alone the epic and size, colours, story, dialogue, music. Check it out. Just marvel at the desert photography and the clever cuts, like the match blowing out. It may not be a 70s thriller that you adore, but it doesnt have a wasted moment nor dialogue that isnt gold-dust.

Lawrence of Arabia is the "poster child" of Classic Films I Have Not Seen. It is to my everlasting regret that I missed a great chance to see the film on IMAX or some such thing back when IIRC the movie was trotted out for its 25th anniversary. There was even a fine glossy book with tons of movie stills, behind-the-scenes photos, and the movie's effect on the pop culture of 1962-63.

If anyone remembers the name of that book, let me know what it's called.

I recorded it off sky. I dont have true HD but what they broadcast is the clearest, cleanest version ive ever seen. Just the clarity and the colours and the details in the corners of the screen is just something to behold. Its the sort of movie BluRay was invented for.

I bought the fantastic looking Blu-ray of 'awrence a few years ago (first day of release), but still haven't got around to watching it yet, well it is a long film, & waiting for that special evening to watch it, when I saw it at the cinema about a hundred years ago, I just went, no special day or anything (Odeon, Hammersmith, it's been a pop venue for years now). I will watch it this year...probably.

"Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just... do things."

"You know me."
"No, I don't!"
"Bucky. you've known me your entire life. Your name is James Buchanan Barnes..."
"SHUT UP!"
"I'm not gonna fight you. You're my friend."
"You're my mission! YOU ARE MY MISSION!"
"Then finish it. 'Cause I'm with you 'til the end of the line."

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

Yep. That's it. (Though could also qualify as "monologue").

Santino: "Anybody know this joint?"
Tessio: "Yeah, sure, i do. It's perfect for us. A small, family place, good food, everyone minds his business. It's perfect. Pete...they've got an old-fashioned toilet...the box and...then the chain thing. We might be able to tape the gun behind it.."

Bill, you forgot the other stuff Sonny said in that scene! You know, the bit about what he doesn't want his brother walking out there with and all... wink

The quote Nicolai posted, I have no clue. Sci-Fi or Babylon Five or something?

Blade Runner? I saw it twice, the last time being twenty years ago. Is it considered a sci-fi film? It has Rutger Hauer and Sean Young in it, plus it's directed by Ridley Scott, so three strikes and out. An incredibly dull movie, regardless of which cut one happens to see.

And the music by Vangelis? No thanks. smile

Now you understand why I wouldn't know a quote from Blade Runner if my own replicant told it to me.
