And . . . the turtles still don't look as good as they did in the first TMNT movie. Oh well. Here's hoping Brian Tyler pulls something special out of his hat.
EDIT: Don't want to be too negative, so I will say that the turtle design isn't awful and there is, in fact, nothing in the trailer the screams awful to me, so I'm happy to give it the benefit of the doubt instead of condemning it from the get-go!
Two things that annoyed me about that trailer as a fan of TMNT; the turtles' faces look too similar to 'Shrek' IMO, the trailer is far too serious; after all that buildup I was expecting for it to go into a fun cowabunga mode the franchise is known for, however it ends up looking like any other formulaic Michael Bay movie. Still hope the Tyler score will be fun though.
Looks like Varese will release the score Robert Townson's Facebook post about TMNT scoring sessions:
WOW! What a group of LA's finest musicians playing brilliantly for Brian Tyler. The most exciting scoring session I've attended in a very long time! THIS is how it's done!
Sara Andon (flutist) - The score is unbelievably amazing!!!! You are going to freak out when you hear Brian's score! It is SOOOOOO awesome! We just had two amazing sessions at WB and have two more on monday and tuesday -- it is truly incredible music and so much fun!!! Exhilarating!
Nah. I look forward to some of Tyler's other work though! Far Cry 3 and Now You See Me were brilliant scores, but the stuff he does for superheroes isn't my cup. Not to mention that I'd like to stay far away from this movie.
