Received JANE EYRE - First the art design is just gorgeous, beautiful layout and organization with a surprising about of photos, all with a very nice antiqued look. Second, the liner notes are very good and answer many long-standing questions I've had about the album. The original notes are included just as they were on the earlier Silva releases and this is a big plus as they're some of the best from the lp era of soundtracks... just compare the notes from the lp of NOT WITH MY WIFE, YOU DON'T for example. Lastly, the remastering has brought us much more transparency and detail in the strings and winds than I've ever heard before and real low-end power for the first time. The slight distortion that appeared in certain passages (notably "Thwarted Wedding" in earlier lp issues and in the first cd issue) is entirely gone here. A stunning release of one of Williams' best efforts.

Thanks Ed. I've already ordered this, so your comments are very reassuring.

I have received all three of these and I will go on record that I have enjoyed them all. Hearing Jane was quite interesting. I would say that's my fav of them all. Hearing early Williams is very interesting and worth it's wait in gold. Sorcery is a grand score as well. Mancini has so much talent, I can't wish him enough success as well as Lennertz.

Can anyone please repost the 800x800 cover for Starhawk?

Just received it but the image on the first page has gone, it isn't on LLL's facebook page nor on their own website.

Then again I think it might be a while before I listen to it. The case arrived and all the little disc holders inside were broken off and behind the disc and have scratched it quite badly in one place. Have tried ripping it but tracks 24 & 25 just won't rip and neither will they play without skipping. frown

There is 600x600 art available here:

I wish LLL would add 600x600 covers to all their releases on their website like Intrada did.

Received my copy of Jane Eyre a few days back - can only echo what others here have already said. It's a beautiful, haunting & melancholic score. Definitely one of his best. I could clearly hear the distortion still on certain tracks (especially through good headphones) but this is obviously due to the original recordings being pushed into the red (vu-vu land as Mr Williams used to call it!) and not a fault of this release. My LP has a slightly fuller sound, but it's not as clear or detailed by far as this release. The distortion is far more obvious on the LP too. A superb release! Buy it while you can wink

Received this along with Starhawk. It really is beautiful isn't it. Noticed a bit of the distortion but it doesn't detract from what is a wonderfully melancholic score. A fantastic release - thanks LLL. Favourite track: Reunion (End Title)
