Ah - Jerry Goldsmith, the Paul Winfield years! My favorite period. wink

Hey, back in the early 80's I had a friend in Dallas who was coming over for dinner and asked could he bring a friend and guess who came, Paul Winfield! We had dinner in my kitchen breakfast nook. I don't recall much talk about movies just politics??

Craig/SAE

Wow, Craig, so lucky! I love Paul Winfield, and he's one of the actors I think I would have enjoyed spending time with - always seemed to be such an interesting person.

And I'm not kidding - Damnation Alley and Twilight's Last Gleaming are two of Jerry's best, far as I'm concerned. (And I've got 'em all!)

I envy all who considered this a "Holy Grail".
Maybe my grails will come some day frown

Those samples sound astounding.

I went back to the FOX BOX recently and it was obvious how mediocre the mix was.
So, glad they found better source material to do a proper remix!!!!!

The improvement over the Fox Box - just of these samples - is striking. Those tracks were a godsend in their day, but this has taken Goldsmith's score to a whole new level.

Mine just shipped. Very excited indeed.

Another one "freed" from the Fox Box!

I still love my Fox Box though. Always will. wink

Been listening to this a lot lately... have to say, "Thank you" to Intrada for going the extra mile to get this done, it is excellent.

Absolutely night and day difference between the two. Kudos to the team for restoring this to it original glory. What a great sound. To me this score is the TOTAL RECALL of its time.

I found this release in a Tower Records in Tokyo and picked it up without even thinking about it. What a revelation, the amount of ideas and creativity poured over this film. I love the panoply of feelings registered, the aggressive questy drive forward with the undercurrent bleakness at the heart, and the upswing. Revisiting composers and musical styles of the recent past is a new feeling, what used to be very present for some of us is now a time travel exercise. I'm glad the releases keep coming though. I miss Jerry always.

It's actually the exact same source material. Once again there was a parallel progression of technology and skill (or maybe it's just boldness) that made the restoration possible.
