Duran Duran- Duran Duran ("The Wedding Album")

"it'll take a little time, might take a little crime to come undone
Now we'll try to stay blind, to the hope and fear outside,
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind
And blow me in to cry.
Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone.
Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone."

~"Come Undone"

"I won't turn you out if you've got someone else
Someone else you care about
Because you must realise
My obsessive fascination is in your imagination..."

The Fabulous Bill Holman (+ Kenton Presents: Bill Holman)

I'm not familiar with this album, JohnnyG, but you've inspired me to pull out a different Bill Homan disc which is among my favorites:

The Bill Holman Band: Brilliant Corners - The Music of Thelonious Monk

Gerhard Taschner plays Sibelius, Khachaturian and Sarasate

Passionate, exciting playing from the Czech-born violinist who in 1941 (at 19 years old!) became concertmaster of Furtwängler's Berlin Philharmonic.

Up next:

Haydn & Hummel: Concertos for the Court of Prince Esterházy
Emmanuel Pahud, flute/François Leleux, oboe & direction - Münchener Kammerorchester

Fresh from the oven ("fresh-baked cookies" as we say in Greek), this is a delightful collection of works played flawlessly by two starry names.

Live-Throwing Copper

"Lightning crashes an old mother dies
Her intentions fall to the floor
The angel closes her eyes
The confusion that was hers
Belongs now to the baby down the hall..."

RCA Living Stereo Box 1 Disc 22
The disc from this collection I was most familiar with as the local library had the LP of Gaite Parisienne and I repeatedly borrowed it.

One of Fiedler's very best - superb early stereo sound, amazing vividness and orchestral colour!
This is unsurpassed!

Meanwhile, chez JohnnyG:

Krommer: Clarinet Quartet and Quintet
Henk de Graaf & Schubert Consort Amsterdam

Martinu: String Quartets Nos. 2, 4 & 5 - Kocian Quartet

The music may not be to everyone's liking (especially the 5th Qt.) but it is masterful and the recording is one of the best I've heard recently!
