I just watched this last night. The transfer is ok and it's anamorphic widescreen. No menus, though.

I had forgotten that Burt Reynolds had a directing credit on this movie. It's not the greatest movie ever made but it does have some fun stuff in it. The end of the film is pretty awful, though, right down to the horrendous song and it's not very satisfying.

Sharky's Machine is a more entertaining film. I'd love to see that come out on Blu Ray with a nice transfer or at least get reissued with a good anamorphic widescreen transfer on DVD.

I always felt that Sharky's Machine was one of Burt's best and most under-rated movies. That fall that Dar takes at the end is jaw dropping.

There's an example of the packaging. Warner uses slimline cases. Maybe Universal will do the same.

Greg Espinoza

FYI Warners DOES NOT use slimline cases, which I prefer and I believe make more sence. They use amray cases, the thick, more common case.

Yeah, Doug Raynes already noted that. I stand corrected.

Which version of Stick is the dvd release? I've seen 2 versions and they are considerably different. Overall I prefer the cinema/original video version, although there are a couple of excellent additional scenes in the other (tv?) version. Barry Devorzon's main theme is excellent. A friend did a wonderful cd mix for me.

It looks like the Universal Vault Series DVD is from the same source as the Blu-Ray so it would be in mono also.
