I've had no response from SAE to an e-mail I sent them asking if they will be selling this.
I don't see it listed in the U.S. by Amazon.com either.
Is it only available from the UK?

can someone kindly please post the total runtime of the 31 track section, and the total runtime of the bonus track section? I couldnt find tracktimes online yet. Just curious how it much it differs from the 20 minute LP.

I decided to order from AmazonUK since it's not listed (even as a pre-order) on SAE or Intrada. For anyone put off by the price and international shipping, the final price will be lower than posted if you order from AmazonUK itself (not the sellers there) because it removes the VAT in the final calculation. And I've always received stuff without a problem.

No response from SAE to my e-mail of last week, so I've e-mailed DeWolfe to ask about U.S. availability. I'll post any info here when I get it.

Received my copy from Amazon UK in very quick time.

Have to say it was worth the wait for this to finally get its long-delayed release.
Sound quality is way above my expectations – De Wolfe has done a fine job on this one and this is as good a production as I'd have expected from our more regular specialist labels.
I'm listening to it now and it is splendid. Good presentation and booklet too. With this and OK Corral arriving within a week of each other, Christmas has really come early for me!
Good to see Ferris' marvelous music given such a worthy release. Top marks to De Wolfe for this one. 10/10.

Inside the package, they have a photo of the master tape box and label that housed the recording. It looks very ordinary and aged, but wherever they stored them must have been ideal because the sound from those tapes is excellent. If only all scores of this vintage were so fresh-sounding and wear/wow/dropout-free as this.

It IS in stock at Amazon UK. Try again.

I had a similar problem to you when I first tried to order it and went to their site via Google. It said Witchfinder was out of stock.
But when I went direct to the Amazon UK site, there it was. It still is – I just checked.

For a second there I thought I had the last copy in the world! Thanks for the heads up on this music.

By Jove, that did it. I was using DuckDuckGo, and apparently had the same problem. Thanks Basil!

The only negative some people might express is that there are several very short cues interspersed, some of only a few seconds. It doesn't bother me because the whole seems to flow nicely anyway, but others might want to bypass some by programming. No big deal.

Is this part of the O.S.T. recording?

O.S.T. Prelude and Romanza

Youtube is full of Witchfinder.

That's a re-recording. I'd say the original recording on the new CD is less "lush" and has more of a close-up studio texture.

That's right, no big deal, the world will go on Basil, believe me, it will.

I recently thought I'd have another search of the Internet to see if the soundtrack CD of Witchfinder General had been released yet and was delighted to find that it had...last November. So I ordered a copy and it arrived yesterday. I am really pleased with it, it sounds marvelous and I particularly like the unusual packaging, with the CD not in the usual jewel case, but a fold open package and containing an impressive and informative glossy booklet full of information on, and stills from, the film. A lot of effort and thought has obviously gone into the design of all this. I have been waiting to obtain this score for an incredible 46 years, from when I was 21 in 1968 to when I am now 67, which must in itself be some kind of record. But it has been worth the wait and I highly recommend this CD.
