Has anybody received theirs yet? I'm curious to hear about it.

Anything?

Anybody? Anybody?

Haven't received mine yet; however, I just checked the status and it says that it's shipped.

Was just looking at the cover... the fact that that little tiny bit of the "5" is cut off on the right side is going to drive me nuts. I think I might have a little OCD or something. LOL

How do you check the status. All i got was a confirmation from paypal that my payment was received. I sent an email twice asking about order status but have not heard anything.

I received two E-mails - one from Paypal, the other from Buysoundtrax. The E-mail from BSX has a link where you can check the status of the order.

Well, at least for the cover art our own ScottM will fix this. Right, Scott? ... Scott?...

Does anybody know if the version of Jamie's theme when she finally starts speaking again makes the album? I always wondered why Howard kind of ditched it in the fifth film apart from that moment and a very light reprisal earlier on IIRC.

What's the verdict on the new "remixes"?

Has Howarth senselessly layered multiple cues ontop of one another again?

Since the cover is pretty poor (cut off "5", and even a poor quality/version of the artwork), here is one I made if anyone wants to use it in itunes.

Reality check: That was the image proved by the production company and design requested by the production company as well.

It's nice when you can use anything without getting approval.

(Deleted. Not worth it.)

Great job, Ross1972.

And if anyone really analyses the track listing's running times, all of them are closely the same.

3. The Child of Evil Must Die (3:21)
14. The Evil Child Must Die (2:15)

5. Stranger Things (2:55)
16. A Stranger In The House (3:37)

These are the only tracks with similar names both versions that have the more significant running times.

Other than this new 2013 mixes section is book-ended with 2 tracks that are named in a way that to me indicate a suites.

2013 MIXES
1. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (4:32)
2. The Shape Rises Again (2:46)
3. The Child of Evil Must Die (3:21)
4. Victim #1 (2:34)
5. Stranger Things (2:55)
6. Tower Farm Murders (4:51)
7. The Raging Must Stop (4:39)
8. Trapped In The Shaft (3:14)
9. Attic Reveal (5:20)
10. Evil Jail Break (2:33)
11. Halloween Final Revenge (3:18)
12. The Revenge (4:33)

ORIGINAL 1989 MIXES
13. The Shape Also Rises (2:52)
14. The Evil Child Must Die (2:15)
15. First Victim (2:24)
16. A Stranger In The House (3:37)
17. Tower Farm (4:23)
18. Stop The Rage (3:39)
19. Trapped (3:22)
20. The Attic (5:29)
21. Jailbreak (2:24)
22. Halloween Finale (3:15)

Shouldn't 12. The Revenge (4:33) be listed with the Original 1989 Mixes? I am guessing that 1. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (4:32) is its 2013 Mix counterpart. On the Varese release, the first track of the score portion is listed as Halloween 5/The Revenge and runs 4:36.

Does anybody have the new CD that can confirm this (either via the track listing or by just listening to both tracks)?

From an aesthetic standpoint, I kind of like the artwork as-released. It's got kind of a painterly quality to it. Nothing to say about the cut-off "5," except I wouldn't have noticed it, but now that it's pointed out it will be all I see.

Either way, the artwork is such a small/minor part of the release. Isn't anyone excited about the music? smile

The only thing that bothers me about the artwork is the cut off "5"... that's just sloppy. I'm not even a professional graphic artist and I would have never submitted it like that.

As for the music, yes, I am excited. Just waiting to hear from some peeps who have received theirs and can give us an update.

When that is the graphic you are provided by the production company
to use, that's what you use.

That's what do in the real world.

Then the production company is the doing the sloppy work and I feel they should up their game. They are probably the same ones who supplied the shoody folder poster art for Anchor Bay to use in the recent Halloween release that Michael24 mentioned. The artwork isn't going to make or break my decision to purchase this CD or not, but I'm just surprised to see something like this happen when it does.

Agreed. The question then becomes WHY is the production company providing subpar materials when there are obviously better versions available. Yes, CD releases about the music first and foremost, but all aspects of a release are important.

To be fair Ross and not that Ford needs me to defend him, but the Shape mask you use on your cover(from the Varese CD)looks exactly like the mask on the cover of Halloween 4 and not 5's official movie poster. That would stick out to me more than the cut-off 5. The point? Nothing's perfect, so let's move on and discuss the merits of the score.

While we're at it, I am going to chime in, a bit off topic and out of the blue, to praise Alan's really wonderful interpretations of "Assault on Precinct 13"/"Dark Star" and "The Thing" -- two albums that no fan of John Carpenter's music should be without. I greatly enjoyed and appreciated both these albums, which are well-made, extremely faithful and affectionate re-recordings of these rare and seminal genre scores.
