And labels often do what they can with the technology available at the time. Technology has come a long way in recent years. Ask Roger over at Intrada. Ask Bruce Kimmel here (maybe he'll chime in), Kritzerland label head.

Often they do what they can and that has to be be enough, then years later new technology allows them to do better, even use tracks where they tapes were previously preventing them.

Or they could get the rights (or had the money to) to do a release of the LP contents and later one another label is able to do the complete film scores.

Then of course it could also be that in the years that have passed, more tapes have been discovered, which can yeild some of the missing score, if not even a better source (undamaged, in stereo, etc.).

There will always be a place for re-issues, and they are rightfully here to stay.

No-one doubts that. But this thread is about Intrada telling us that the previous releases, including one of just two years ago, suffered from mistakes by the mastering personnel, not inferior technology.

So what?

So what if a label did it incorrectly? So what if another label issues it correctly?

Intrada, LLLR, Kritzerland, Music Box, who cares which label re-issues what. If you don't want that watermelon, don't buy the friggin' watermelon and everybody stop bitching that the store isn't carrying other kinds of fruit.
