How many titles would each composer have? Maybe we'll get another title from WILLIAMS, ELFMAN, NEWMAN?

We don't know until MV drops another hint.

NEWMAN
HOWARD
GOLDSMITH
KAMEN
MANCINI

If they release a Thomas Newman CD then I would love if they release The Lost Boys.

For the Howard title I hope either Marked For Death or Falling Down for premiere release or if it is an expanded then I truly hope it is Outbreak.

For the Goldsmith title, if it is a premiere release I hope it is Seven Days In May (maybe doubled with something else). If it is an expanded release I hope it is for one of his 90`s score that only got a 30 minute release by Varese such as Executive Decision, L.A. Confidential or Chain Reaction for example.

When it comes to Kamen I have several suggestions I would love to be released such as Venom, The Last Boy Scout, Nothing But Trouble, Adventures In Babysitting or one of his unused/rejected scores such as Assassins or Fair Game. If it is a box set then why not Lethal Weapon 1-4?

Mancini, then I have only one and that is his score to the Michael Crichton movie Physical Evidence. But then again if it is just a typo and it is supposed to be Mancina I truly hope that they release his fine score to the movie Monkey Trouble, just love that score. But then again his scores to such films as Fair Game and Assassins should not be overlooked though.

KAMEN - Lethal Weapon box set
MANCINI - Pink Panther box set

Those would be indeed so awesome it would blow me "through the back of the theater"!

Falling Down and Collateral are my most wanted Howard scores that definetly need a (score only) release.

And more Kamen is...more Kamen! :-D

The Collateral soundtrack has all the music from the film.

The Collateral soundtrack has all the music from the film.

The soundtrack only has four tracks by Howard and misses most of the scores from the final part of the film (Foxx running to the office building, Cruise stalking the offices)

Collateral had a lot of rejected music (and at least six composers worked on the film, such as Howard, Craig Armstrong, Charlie Clouser and a few Zimmer guys).

Now that we are well into April of 2012 some things have changed and/or have been added to our release slate.

Box sets:

We do plan on having at least 2 more "box-sets" coming out this year (ala Friday the 13th and Medal of Honor). Two other 4 disc sets originally planned to be housed in "boxes" will no longer be housed in said boxes. FSM's recent Ben Hur looks great without one and so will these releases. We feel a "box set" should consist of more than just 4 cds. It should be something special -- an event release -- and when we have a concrete idea as to when these sets will be coming out we will let you know far in advance like we did with Friday the 13th. They will be pricey, so you should be able to get a heads up on saving your bucks.

(PLEASE NOTE: This new 4 disc set policy does not apply to our upcoming X Files Volume 2. It will match Volume 1. As to when...well, the truth is out there)

Other tidbits:

Goldsmith will certainly be the flavor of the month. . . for several months. lol

Williams will certainly be well represented as well. wink

A few more Golden Age titles are in the works (with possibly more in 2013).

Expect more westerns, tv music, video game music, "expansions", "virgin titles" and a few improved reissues as well.

Our goal this year is to shed some focus on JNH, Hans and the late Mr. Kamen like we did with other LLL favs like Ms. Walker, Danny, Mr. Morris and David Arnold.

There is a lot of great stuff coming up. Our 10th year in business is as busy as ever!

MV

PS 55 Days is now SOLD OUT. Gotta love that Tiomkin -- I know WE DO! wink

eek

Or, in English language form, "Oh, hells yeah!" LaLaLand absolutely effing rules, and the pending surprises mentioned make me love them all the more. X-Files Volume 2 is good enough, but endless possibilities on top of that are even better!

Well, it would be nice to have finally an Eidelman somewhere on that list. Not to mention another Horner would be pretty cool, Morris, Arnold and of course... Delerue...

A LETHAL WEAPON box set would be super!

As for other Kamen from that period, I am particularly fond of the edgy SUSPECT. The National Philharmonic performed Varese LP contained two suites -- it was somewhat bright yet pleasantly dynamic and on quality vinyl.

A box set of the FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON mini-series scores, with Kamen’s title music and episodes, would be wonderful too!

Cheers
Chris

Great news, MV!

I absolutely LOVE that you'll be giving advance notice for when the multi-disc sets come out. Very classy.

So if I understood, correctly, there are FOUR more box set planned for 2012:

1. X-Files volume 2 (4 discs, in a box)
2. Another 4-disc title (no box)
3. A 5+ disc set (in a box)
4. Another 5+ disc set (in a box)

Is that right?

Exciting!

EDIT: Reading MV's post again, I'm confused... is it really:

1. X-Files volume 2 (4 discs, in a box)
2. Another 4-disc title (no box)
3. A third 4 disc set (no box)
4. 5+ disc set (in a box)

?

Either way I'm very excited smile

Heres my hopes :-)

HOWARD- Wyatt Earp and or The Postman (WB)
GOLDSMITH- The River Wild and The Shadow (Same set up as 1941 with the Sony Music and Universal Licencing???), Supergirl, Star Trek: TMP and or Congo (Sony)
KAMEN-Last Action Hero (Sony), Lethal Weapon Quadrilogy (WB/Watertower)
MANCINI - S.O.B

I don't recall that there is much music in "SOB". As time went on, music was not a big part of Blake Edwards films. "Switch" had most of Mancini's music removed as well as "A Fine Mess", "Blind Date". There's probably a few more but those come to mind first.
