Yeah, it holds up well on CD, as do most of Preisner's work.
I've just rewatched the colours trilogy and was once again mezmerized by his superb scores for these films -- films that often use music as a narrative plot point too (esp. BLEU, of course).
Was blown away by his music in Double Life of Veronique. But does anyone think the music holds up just as strongly on CD? I would just buy it, but it's pretty expensive in Japan, and if I want the remastered 2011 it's really expensive. so another question, Does the remastered CD actually sound better, or does it change the sound profile in any undesirable way?
I'm not suprised IMHO score on CD is much worth to explore. It's one of my favourities scores of all time. I have the first edition from Sideral. The sound was a little improved on remastering 2011, but I don't think it's worth much efforts if you can get previous edition for lower money (on eBay for example).
