Free fire 2016

Do you know how boring it is watching 10 men and a woman shoot at each other in a disused warehouse after a gun deal goes wrong...for two f****** hours! Just about everybody gets wounded about three times whilst fairly unoriginal banter gets called out inbetween gunfire bursts.

5.5 out of 10. I think Cillian murphy must have made this during his filming lunchbreak during peaky blinders!

Yeah, I saw Free Fire last week. I was just channel hopping & found it, it was already five minutes in, & usually I won't watch a film unless I see the whole thing, but I stayed with it & quite enjoyed it, although I agree with everything you said about it Bill.

TITANIC 9-10

I'm a Cameron fan and am impressed by this one. I remember the first time I saw it, it was in the theater and I had a hangover. The film took my mind of the hangover and I had a good time.

Although im not sure about the 9 for titantic.
Great special effects but the story onboard was utterly awful.

The shanghai job 2017

Started badly... got worse.
Orlando bloom with dodgy cockney accent as a security transporter for antiquities. Utterly awful.
Punch ups and car accidents where nobody gets hurt let alone killed. It had a 12 rating but probably shudve been age group rating 9.

Bloom's name in it was Danny Stratton.
And his electronics genius kid is called Ding Dong.
And he must call him Ding Dong about 70 times in the film.
Tells you enough.
And the soundtrack songs were all abysmal.

4 out of 10

Ten minutes into Thor Ragnyrok ...and i dont think im going to last.

Ooh wait. Hela has appeared. It might only be cate blanchett but its about the sexiest shes ever been. smile

Edit: actually in fairness it wasnt too bad. Jeff goldblum was good, The banter dialogue between thor and the female and thor and his brother was quite amusing.

Id go 7.5 out of 10. Not bad as far as most silly superhero films go.

Doctor Strangelove 8/10

Stands up very well for its age. A tour de force for Peter Sellars’s arm near the end but for me his straightlaced stiff-upper-lip Group Captain was the star of the show, along with Stirling Hayden as Jack (the) Ripper and his bodily fluids.

Rampage (2018)
6/10

I thought I'd be groaning most of the way through, but it was much better than I expected.
It's a B-movie, but an extremely well-made B-movie.
And I'll be damned if Johnson isn't becoming a competent actor. I swear I saw a couple of moments of actual subtlety in him.
Great FX, good score and it zips along at a snappy pace.

Barbarella 3/10

Starts out as campy fun, then just becomes a tedious bore. It was interesting to hear where the band Duran Duran got their name, however...

The Cowboys 8/10

I was curious to see this after getting the new Varese expanded soundtrack, and it was really good. Top notch entertainment, chilling at parts. Bruce Dern sure knew how to play an a-hole as well as anybody and the ensemble children's cast playing alongside John Wayne and Rosco Lee Brown are excellent....

Agreed, other than the titillating opening credits the film is as exciting as watching paint dry. Actually watching paint dry is more entertaining.

I'm going to be watching it very soon, the main attraction for me being Jeffrey Dean Morgan's government suit: "When science shits the bed, I'm the one who they call in to change the sheets."
