In 1963 Belgian-born Tony Sandler met American entertainer Ralph Young when Sandler joined the cast of the "Casino de Paris" revue at the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas. After two seasons in that show, in 1965, Sandler and Young decided to start their own act and perform together as a singing team. The duo "Sandler & Young" performed for two decades as headliners in the main showrooms of the major Las Vegas hotels and casinos, and at venues all over the country. They had guest spots on many national television shows, including multiple appearances on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "Hollywood Palace." When Alan W. Livingston, then-president of Capitol Records, saw them at the Coconut Grove nightclub in the Ambassador Hotel in Hollywood, he immediately signed them to a recording contract. During the next ten years, the duo sold millions of records, making them one of the most popular acts in show business. In the mid-1980s, at age 65, Ralph Young retired from the act to spend more time with his family in Palm Springs. Tony Sandler, two decades younger, continued to perform and produce. The pair made occasional appearances together for special occasions; their last was at the 2003 All Stars benefit show "Let Freedom Ring" in Palm Springs to honor the victims of 9/11. Ralph Young died in 2008, at age 90. Tony Sandler is still alive at 84. You actually BOUGHT THIS? ! Brm P.s. it would be funny if somebody could Photoshop ADAM Sandler and BURT Young's face onto the covers

War- "The World is a Ghetto" (the best-selling album in the USA in 1973, according to Billboard, yet the band is totally forgotten by the pop culture collective). THIS old fart remembers. My favorite is "All Day Music". I'm glad someone does! However, I may be overstating their forgottenness, because I'm pretty sure their song "Low Rider" is still well known--I hope. Unfortunately, that's seemingly the one overly played on oldies stations, even to this day. The radio industry began losing me in the mid '70's, with the New York Consultant issued playlists. There was more to life than Born to be Wild, Stairway to Heaven, China Grove and Margaritaville, etc. That crap still goes on to this day at certain Clear Channel outlets. EDIT: Tried Pandora a couple of years ago. Just as lame.... Nowadays, I live pretty much on YouTube for the forgotten faves.
