Eventually, all those later shows will be classed as vintage. I guess it's also down to which generation you grew up in.

Well, I don't simply define "classic" as the era it originates from but the quality of the series. Neither would be a "classic" in any era. They're just not good enough, any more than The Immortal, The Gemini Man, the Planet of the Apes or Logan's Run TV series are classics. They're just old, failed sci-fi shows I liked more than most people.

Classics from the 80's would include successful, popular and influential shows like Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, Magnum PI or Knight Rider (regardless of critical response to the latter).

Don't forget "Airwolf". You also left out "The A-team" but that deserves to be left out.

Don't forget the fashion show "Miami Vice", starring two fashion model cops.

President Nixon's favorite series!

If Nixon was a Goldsmith fan, then we need to once again reassess the 35th president's legacy.

The magician has my interest. The opening theme was a classy tune, also typical with that trumpet interlude. Last time I saw it is 40 years ago but I do remember the Corvette that could reinflate its tire after it was punctured by a group of thugs, and that was parked in the magician's private plane, a bald assistant, and an "Howard Hughes" episode about a rich woman who reclude in her bedroom and the magician finding out it was a mannequin. That scene creeped me out because he peeled away the mask and beneath it was a bland metalic head with staring eyes microphones for ears and a loudspeaker for a mouth, brrr.

I just watched season 3 of CHEYENNE, a show I had never seen.
Really, really bad (although Amazon customers seem to love it!)

Like other WB westerns of the era , stock footage (and music) from WB films is interspersed throughout eps to embarrassing effect.
CLint Walker may be a hunk but he can't act (yeah, he was good in DIRTY DOZEN)

MUST TO AVOID!

Here is one to get!

LAWMAN w/John Russell.
This a classy WB production.

Similar to GUNSMOKE but played straight - no 'comic relief' or predictable romance.

check it oout!

TCM (UK) has just started showing season two of Rawhide in HD. I recorded the first one & zipping through it, it looks very nice.

I have recently viewed several of the PERRY MASON MYSTERY MOVIES revival.
Produced and scored by COLUMBO vets Dean Hargrove & DIck DeBenidictis, I had high hopes.

It sucks!
Big time!

I should have known better; exec produced by Fred "Supertrain" Silverman

They just started playing "The Flony Squad" on Get T.V. and for once the episodes are clear as a bell and don't look like some crummy public domain prints. Let's hope it leads to a D.V.D release.

How is Lawman?
What about the cast and crew?
How do you rate the episodes of season 1?

Thanks.
