Would anyone happen to have insight into exactly how the collaboration was done between Clap, San and Kamen? Wish the liners touched upon this. Did Kamen record the orchestral cues and hand them over, saying "have fun with it"? Or maybe they played live with the orchestra? Did Kamen compose leaving room for them in the cues? I am so intrigued.

Here is the BMW chase within the film in it's entirety. Enjoy!

Almost two years since the release of this "Lethal Weapon" boxset, and I still find myself continually listening to it. It's music that I keep coming back to because I discover something new all the time.

What's interesting for me is that I originally purchased the set because I was a huge fan of the films, but, apart from the first picture, not so much the scores. And now, I cannot get enough of the music!

As do I, enjoy this most excellent box almost daily too.

It's such a massive box set. I also still listen to them quite often. I recently watched all the films again and for the first time noticed how music was unused.

I've always respected Michael Kamen as a composer but mostly thanks to LLL I've become a massive fan, this and their Die Hard releases are really excellent

A question regarding LW4. After Chinatown chase the music for scene on the rooftop where Jet Li kills the other bad guy. Didn't notice that piece of music on the set. Is it part of the original score or just tracked music?

Lest we forget. ... (Warning: it's a Pollyanna post ahead):

Thank you LLL for making this endlessly excellent set.

I'm revisiting part 2 today, and thank you for including the original album (for the first 3, actually ). Playing the album today, I'm reminded how pissed I was as I listened back in '92, watching track after track of jam sessions pass, and none of the electrifying Kamen orchestral work surfacing. I remember damn near holding my breath between cues, hoping....THIS one will be orchestral? Maybe they snuck in some true Kamen? Maybe The Embassy is the main title & it was mislabeled at the plant? Watching the cassette spool closer to the end....still nothing. Finally, the last track. ...only a tease of the stuff I came for!!

Now, I can relax, enjoy the original album for what it is, and be grateful we have this set.

I think putting things in perspective is healthy, not sure anyone else in these parts does as much as they should. Or, it's just age setting in, as I'm finding more worth in having old & expanded configurations in one place.

Well, Riggs & Roger has some good panicky score in the second half, so that was helpful. ...still....

The Stilt House - just arrived at this track and it all came back to me - this is where I was super pissed & gave up hope! Wasn't this an action scene in the film? Wtf is this rock trsck, wha hoppen?? Yeah, it was this one.
Now, it sounds fine, but at 16....pissed!

I feel like this happened often with Michael Kamen scores back in the day, whether it was no album at all for Die Hard or Lethal Weapn 4, the original Lethal Weapon album missing the "Hollywood Blvd Chase" cue, only a few score tracks on the Die Hard 3 and Lethal Weapon 3 albums, etc... I think for a long time Die Hard 2 was probably the best representation of one of Kamen's big action scores. Now we're at a great time when all of those scores are finally available in full, so we really get to soak up all the Kamen orchestral action.

I read some interview with Kamen where he stated that more often than not, the album had to be done "the night before", so to speak, or like Die Hard 3, before the score was done. I'm just always amazed & grateful his work has received the attention it deserves - all those LLL'S are endlessly entertaining. Really miss Kamen, he was a big influence on me musically growing up...

See, exactly what I'm yammering about! This set keeps on giving....I know this cue, but can't remember specifics, so...it's LW4 Day now! Always new surprises to discover.

The original Die Hard 3 album was hands-down the most disappointing CD of all time. In the days before samples, man what a let down. Hardly anything from the film plus ode to joy??? It wasn't even in the film! Thank Grueber Lalaland got their hands on it.

It was assembled almost like a concept album, based on someone's idea of the movie without seeing it... there were some nice new Kamen cues included but it was a real rush job for sure.

LW 2 was the worst Kamen soundtrack leaving off so much of the score. It was also best "sounding" score. So crisp. It's been 4 years since the box set came out and I still get so much joy listening to it. Hitting that random button for all 4 scores is a dream come true. Rediculous how awesome those scores are.

Yes, I find myself coming back to these a lot, often listening to them in order, one after another. The interplay between the Sanborn (Roger) and the Clapton (Riggs) never gets old. And there is some THUNDEROUS action to be had here.

I am in LOVE with this set. I still listen to it on a weekly basis. I think Lethal Weapon 2 is definitely the best of four in terms of music. I love the Stilt House Falls the most. But as some one else said earlier, the sound on 2 is so crisp and powerful.
