But that's not an American commercial - the YouTube channel is in another language and, to be honest, I've take enough bras off of women to know that the measurements seen on the band at the end aren't the American sizing system - so how could this be commentary on American society?
And I don't see how karma has anything to do with this? That's kind of an ugly perversion of the term, if anything. You don't call down karma on anyone, that's the total opposite of the natural balancing concept behind it.
Except that the prevalence of romance novels / sexualization of men are mostly limited to bookstores, firefighter calendars or places where people would actively seek that kind of material. Whereas it's far more common for the sexualization of women to be pushed way beyond the limited scope it ought to be - on billboards, magazines, video games, movies & TV... just about everything for public consumption is rife with it. It's part of the reason why I've chosen to stop indulging in 99% of movies/TV/video games that have come out in the past ten years, and with society's irrational fear of change (preferring instead to hold a tight grip onto "traditional values"), my stance isn't going to change anytime soon.
Sex is not the sole purpose of living life, despite what the media and consumerism desperately pushes onto everybody 24/7. It should be a niche rather than an everyday occurrence. I have to deal with enough of it in my line of paying work, I don't need more of it in my free choice of lifestyle.
Well if you want to go tit for tat. (No pun intended) How about the fact fictional married men are always represented as idiots, baphoons or whipped? Take your pick of any commercial with a fictional couple or a comedy series.
I'm not going to bother re-watching the video... but I wasn't particularly convinced that the person at the beginning and the person at the end are the same person. (authenticity) There is no doubt that it is silly.
TO SENN 555- You say SEX is not the sole purpose of living life, for 99 9/10th of people with kids is there another way of creating life[ha-ha] couldn't resist it. But seriously I agree with you the media has the past few decades gone way overboard with the sexual content of things. I always wondered if for 3 and a half decades of fine films being made without heavy emphasis on sex suddenly in the late 60's they just went berserk However I can't totally agree with you when it comes to the male/female issue. HBO has made a habit of showing to the masses nearly everything there is to see on a male and often not too late at night where young girls can watch.Much more so then what can be shown on a female. To see a female totally naked you would have to watch, hardcore stuff. For some reason HBO has felt that is not needed for the male race.

Or all the commercials where women are swooning over shirtless men, usually construction workers. In particular, I remember a famous soda ad from the mid-90s that was all about female office workers objectifying a shirtless construction man next door.
