What is your favorite character? Favorite cartoon?

Definitely Bugs Bunny. Not just my favorite Looney Tunes character, but my favorite cartoon character, period.

As for a favorite LT cartoon, there are so many to choose from. However, the one that I always seem to remember the best and just never fail to be amused by is Bully for Bugs, where Bugs (on his way to "Albuqoique," of course) accidentally arrives in the middle of a bullring and ends up tangling with Toro the Bull.

To this day, I still sometimes quote Bugs's line when I'm waiting for somebody to do or hand me something: "Okay, Toro, whenever you can spare the time." big grin

"Stop steamin' up my tail! What're ya tryin' to do, wrinkle it?"

OK barryfan, when it comes to Looney Toons, it is absolutely impossible for me to give only one example. I love 'em all. Plus, it's been so many years since I've seen them that I've forgotten most of the titles.

I adore What's Opera, Doc? and One Froggy Evening. I also love the one where Bugs accidentally ends up in the middle of a bullfight, but I can't recall the title.

Too many to mention.
Bugs & Daffy are my favorite characters, but then I could go down the entire list and tell you why I love them so much!

OK! OK!
Michael24 got in just ahead of me with Bully For Bugs!
That's the one I was talking about!

Thanks, Michael24!

Christopher, I also like the ones you mentioned. But there are two that I always remember....although I have no idea what they are called. The catchcry of one is "This time....Don't forget the gravy!!". I think it has 2 dogs in it.

The other is about a cat trying to catch a bird who is drinking at a birdbath. The details escape me but I remember the cat getting caught in his own ingenious bird catching device, being covered in quick drying cement and becoming a birdbath.

The most out-of-control cartoon ever, with an incredible score:

I love Bugs but my all time favourite cartoon character ever is Wile E Coyote. Genius!

I suppose Bugs is my favorite but really the whole cast of characters are brilliantly funny. Of course it helps they were mostly voiced by the same actor. Pepe' Le Pew was my least favorite along with Speedy Gonzales.

Regarding What's Opera Doc, that was a far more expensive short to make. As with all producers it was about making a budget. (and always do it cheaper, even back then!) What the artists had to do was cheat. In order to make WOD, the director had to take animators whom had finished another short earlier than expected, and move them onto WOD while keeping them on the clock for the previous short. This hid the fact WOD took longer and was more expensive to make.

Bugs Bunny is definitely my favorite. As for the cartoons themselves, I have too many favorites to pick just one. Some of my favorites include: Bully for Bugs, Ballot Box Bunny, Rabbit of Seville, Duck Dodgers and the 24th and 1/2 Century, and Feed the Kitty. Of course after posting this I am sure I will think of other favorites.

Another here for Daffy. As to fave cartoon, really there are too many name. (When I do remember there names) Duck Dodgers particularly, Daffy as Robin Hood, the one where everything is going wrong for Daffy and it turns out Bugs is drawing the cartoon. Oh and the one where the abdominal snowman wants a rabbit to love him, and squeeze him and so on and Bugs and Daffy battle it out.

I think anything by Chuck Jones is worth watching, but I submit the Bugs/Daffy trilogy:

Rabbit Fire!
Rabbit Seasoning
Duck! Rabbit!, Duck!

Honorable Mention:

Duck Amuck

This is easy for me.

It's a tie between "The Apes Of Wrath" and "Hillbilly Hare".

OK, OK Looney Tunes lovers...
What's the name of the one where Bugs disguises himself as "Leopold", and conducts the tenor, raising his hand to the sky, and the disembodied hand levitates there while the tenor belts out that high note, his face turning every color in the spectrum?

That's a great cartoon!

I'd have to go with Foghorn Leghorn. He was too arrogant for his own good and threw out some great one liners.

"That boy's so dumb he thinks a bowlin' pin is somethin' you write with!"

Christopher Kinsinger:

Long-Haired Hare.

On DVD (I am sure), but also available in audio form on the Bugs Bunny on Broadway album. What a great album.
