Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Music Composed by
Patrick Doyle
(Thor, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, Henry V)

An origin story in the true sense of the word, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is set in present day San Francisco. Starring James Franco, Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), John Lithgow, Andy Serkis (Lord Of The RIngs) and Brian Cox, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale — a science fiction/science-fact blend where mankind's hubris leads to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other — and to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.

The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate.

Patrick Doyle, riding high with the score for THOR, chalks up another summer blockbuster.

20th Century Fox opens RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES nationwide on August 5.

Looking very much forward to the film and the score. The second trailer looks also quite good...

With Don't be afraid of the dark my the most expected score of August. About time someone finally announces that one too.

So excited. That new trailer was good, the whole Caesar dynamic and his relationship with Franco should give a lot for Doyle to work with.

It'll be interesting to hear Doyle's take on the series.

Whilst no fan of Doyle, Im pretty sure Ill get this. I have all the earlier scores, Im a fan of the Apes films so hopefully this will be good. In fact, I cant remember the last time I bought a current score by anyone!

As always, looking forward to anything by Doyle.

I still don't understand how a music press release can manage not to say a single word about the actual music. . .

Great to see this announced and great to see that stupid rumor laid to rest that Doyle's score got rejected.

I can't be doing with apes, monkeys, whatever, in films. Not KK, not Clyde, not those little screechy sods in pirate films, and not even the PG Tips adverts.

On the other hand, Doyle and Pinto....

And...everything with Brian Cox in it is worth a try.

Yep - Doyle, Pinto and Cox.

That looks better than it sounds.

Looking forward to this one even more than I was Thor, because I've literally no idea how it'll sound. I'm very glad the rumours of him being replaced by Trevor Rabin haven't come to pass

...yet!
