The score is adventurous and lyrical; a must for Barry fans. Many might think of an LP re-issue as a terrible idea (the running time being 26 mins), but according to new research done with the existing DVD release, there are only about 6 mins of unreleased music. Never cared for this one, sorry to say. Not only does this need an uncut cd re-release, it also needs to be released on dvd in the US. For me the MCA LP just doesn't do the score justice, in face it makes it seem to be a wholly lesser effort. But expanded as much as possible, songs/narration removed...? Maybe. Alex I'd buy it, of course, because it would be remastered and official. But there are certain cues I'm dying to have that aren't on the album... the music for Tonto when he's looking down at the dead bodies of the Texas Rangers... the final battle... and there's some music for Cavendish that's missing too. Might not be more than ten or fifteen minutes extra, but I'd love to have it. I only buy vinyl when it's the only alternative (and, yes, I bought a 180g vinyl of the Hawaii Five-0 soundtrack, and it's under 30 mintues). My preference is always for a CD.
