I NEVER would have made that statement, except that I was INSPIRED by Laurent WATTEAU...

Laurent caused me to focus upon my personal, selfish desires for individual ambition! AND so, I say........

YEAH, LAURENT!

I like to think SIX and more times before starting a new thread. Does this make me an outlaw?

...Marian, could you kindly stay ON TOPIC please?

Possibly the only thing more distressing than multiple threads on the same topic is cross-posting -- responding to one thread in a totally different thread!

I mean, are either of you guys teenagers? I know I'm not..and I'm grateful, grateful, grateful. Of course, I wasn't prepared for what would happen after I turned 40 (YIKES), being an adult was so much better than being a teen.

"are either of you guys teenagers?"

No, but we play them on TV!

HEY RON! I was just having some FUN, OK?

Now give us a kiss...that's right. We're all friends here. Ron, you can't be mad at me. I mean it, Ron. You can't be mad at me for having some harmless fun. Here. Have this hot fudge sundae that I just made for you.

Nobody can be mad while eating ice cream...it's a physical impossibility.

MMMMWHAAAAA! (That was a big old Dinah Shore smooch!)

Who said anything about being mad?

And isn't "The Towering Inferno" just one of the best all-time FSM releases...EVER?

Towering Inferno best? NO WAY! You forgettin' about MONTE WALSH? And how's about GUIDE FOR THE MARRIED MAN? DUDE!!!

As for starting a new thread, I hardly ever do that. I'm a counterpuncher. Last time I started a new thread it was to sing the praises (sort of) of FRENCH CONNECTION, and boy did I get some dookee hurled at me for that one!

Chris, how do I count if I am thinking about starting a new thread, get interrupted, and continue my line of thought a little bit later. Does that count as one or as two times?

Ron, I think that was Mancini, not Schifren.

I'm sorry, Nicolai.
That only counts as one thought.
Unless, of course, you have made significant additions or deletions to the thought by the time you returned to it.
Then it would count as two thoughts.

In case of doubt, please include a full log of your pre-posting thoughts within the first post of the perhaps too-hastly-created thread. Mr. Kinsinger and myself will then carefully evaluate this list and decide wheter or not the creation of the thread was the right thing to do.

Unless, of course, he's no 'count.

You know...like we say about folks down south -- aww, he ain't no 'count. Of course, in Europe this saying has a totally different meaning, especially when trying to differentiate between earls and dukes.

There, one has to say that someone simply will never amount to anything.

Uhh...what the heck were you guys talking about?

If I were a count, would that already count as one so that my first actual thought would already count as two? What if you happen to see a count in the street at the time when you are thinking about posting a new thread? Could you just count him and move your count up by one? I mean, can you mix counting counts and counting thoughts?

Thanks, that's very nice of you, very helpful. You see, sometimes it's so hard to decide whether to count a particular line of thought as one or as two times, especially if there are two or more intervowen ideas in it (or if one happens to be a count). It might be helpful to release a standard application for creating new threads, you know, one of those where everything is explained in the fine print on the back.

Unless I am mistaken, this is all about windmills.

Though, if one were a count, one wouldn't have to count things oneself anymore, would one? One would have subjects to do the counting, I imagine.

One could be a poor count.

Do poor counts count as count in our counting discussion?

I can see this happening with AI and I'm a bit frustrated with it.

AI doesn't count.

I have no idea what Wickenstein is talking about.

But in spite of that, I say,
