I thought the full trailer looked pretty good and then they announce this composer...sigh. As if Tomb Raider wasn't enough. Who gets him all these assignments?

People with no deeper taste in composers than the last crappy film they saw.

Any new JXL is welcome to me. He's one of the best around at the moment. Do you have a link to the trailer?

I don't think he is. My feelings towards him are the same as yours towards Giacchino or Desplat who are far superior composers in my humble opinion. He seems like a very nice person but his music does nothing for me.

From the trailer, I think the film looks awful. More like a computer game!!
I think it's gotten the composer it deserves!

If you don’t like him, why start a brand new thread about him?

Life is too short, man. Try discussing things you actually do like. It’s much more productive.

It's apparently not short enough to spend time lecturing somebody about it though. There's time for that.

Because I was looking forward to the movie but not so much now. Not that I have to justify myself.

No, you don’t have to justify yourself at all. If you wanna start a thread and trash talk a composer you don’t like, knock yourself out man.

This is great news. I liked his Tomb Raider score a lot.

Ditto. Mad Max and Tombstone are among the best of this decennium. Although less stellar, Tomb Raider, Spectral, Deadpool and De Heineken Ontvoering were quite good to excellent.

His greatest so far is DISTANCE BETWEEN DREAMS, IMO. It's woefully underrated, and rare example of him using his old school electronica skills in a film score.

Guess he doesn't get royalty checks when Brian Tyler isn't scoring...

Amazing the spectacular images they can put on film today without making me care one little bit.
