Merry Christmas Everyone,

Welcome to my 8th annual Christmas CD giveaway contest.

In past years I've put up multiple copies of one title or a box set as the prizes. For a little change of pace this year I'd like to offer four different titles. La La Land has been producing beautiful sets of John Williams' great scores from Spielberg films. There are four that are my favorites. Two came out this year and two are from previous years.

These four titles will be the prizes for this contest....

  • AI - Artificial Intelligence 3CD Set
  • Close Encounters of the Third Kind 2CD Set
  • ET The Extra-Terrestrial 2CD Set
  • Jurassic Park/The Lost World 4CD Set

If you would like to participate for a chance to win one of these titles please follow these two rules...

    1) First, tell me which title(s) you would like to win. You may put yourself in the running for as many titles as you wish but can win only one. I want them to go to four different members.

    2) Of all films or TV work directed by Steven Spielberg, tell me which movie is your favorite along with a brief explanation why. Name only one film. Do not post Youtube videos, please.

Note: The quality of your answer for rule #2 will not increase or decrease your chances of winning. It simply serves as your entry into my contest and may make for some interesting reading for others.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will print all participant's names on a slip of paper for each title and at the conclusion of this contest all names will go into a large mixing bowl and drawn out one at a time. This is as fair as any other method. It's also more fun for me!

I will accept entries for this contest until 9pm EST on Wednesday, December 6. The winning names will be announced one hour later at 10pm that evening.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Anyone may participate. Worldwide delivery.

  • Please don't copy my original post. I just find that annoying when trying to read all entries.

  • No one is on my ignore list so I will see all entries. wink

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Let the posting begin!

First a huge thanks for running this competition:
Answer to question 1) Jurassic Park/The Lost World 4CD Set
Answer to question 2) Schindler's List. From a technical prospect it is stunning, from colour of the film to William’s score. From a story telling point of view, it shows that in one of the darkest chapters of human history there is hope and that’s why it is such a remarkable film for me and why I’ve always rated it so highly.

    Thank you, this is amazing.

    1. I would like to win CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND.

    2. My favourite Spielberg picture is JAWS. Pure horror, exhilarating adventure, and serious male bonding all drawn together with an astonishing John Willliams score. Just incredible.

    Great! Adam do it again!!!

    I'm in, so...

    1) E.T./CE3K.
    2) Is most difficult. I KNOW - you said just one film, but I simply can't chose between Raiders of the Lost Ark (which I love for its spirit of adventure, which you can feel almost in every scene, plus I really enjoy it's climax with SPOILER! melting Nazis) and Columbo: Murder by the Book (for its elegance & suspence). I'm so sorry for violating the rule smile

    1. I would also like to win CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND .

    2. My favorite Spielberg's movie is clearly E.T. , saw it in December 1982 in English with French subtitles in Aix-en-Provence, NEVER SEEN A SO ENTHUSIASTIC AUDIENCE FOR A MOVIE SINCE Raiders of the Lost Ark. The good crowd were delighted and the atmosphere was excellent.

Thank you for this offer. Here are my responses.

    1. E.T./CE3K/Jurassic Park
    2. There are many great films, but E.T. is a personal favorite. It is a nostalgic film that I remember watching several times as a kid. An appreciation for music itself (within the film and outside of the film) is another reason why I enjoy this film.

    1. Jurassic Park. CEOTTK.

    2. Spielberg directed well-known classics the 70s being his best period, its a hard choice between Jaws, Duel. Jaws get my vote for its quality acting cast, script, cinematography, & of course John Williams, an amazing score.

Thank you. Adam, for this opportunity, your a good-man, generous, a Merry Christmas, New-year, Adam, & your family have fun. smile

    1) Close Encounters of the Third Kind 2CD Set

    2) Raiders of the Lost Ark. Introduction to a legendary hero, a very clever script, great directing, amazing balancing of action and humor and of course an iconic theme and score.

Thanks a lot for your generosity

    1. E.T./CE3K/Jurassic Park
    2. ET is very especial to me. I saw it in 1982 when I was only 6. I was with my parents and my brothers and I remember how I cried when ET left earth. My poor mom was trying to calm me down...great memories, great soundtrack, great movie

1.would like the CD A.I Artificial Intelligence

2.Close Encounters of the Third Kind is definitely my favorite Speilberg film..It came out at a perfect time as i was living away at school in NH,and would go home for vacations..and was always fascinated with UFO's-had my own experiences which kind of brought it closer to home for me..certain elements rang true for me..as weird as that sounds.

Wow, thanks for the great opportunity!

    1) A.I./Close Encounters/Jurassic Park

    2) Schindler’s List. One of the most immensely moving films I’ve ever seen. Even thinking about it gets me teary-eyed. The score is in my Top 10 all-time greatest film scores.

    1) I would like to win AI - Artificial Intelligence.

    2) Hook. Mostly for nostalgic reasons. I was 5 when it came out and it was much loved on VHS for many years. The score is also one of my favourites of course. Even today I can still have a good time with this film. Discovering it was not universally loved was truly a surprise!

    Kudos for running these giveaways!

    1.) like to win
Close Encounters of the Third Kind 2CD Set
    ET The Extra-Terrestrial 2CD Set
Jurassic Park/The Lost World 4CD Set

    I own AI.

2.)Schindlers List as it combined Spielberg magic with a very important true story. Close second would be Raiders of the Lost Ark. It brought back the magic of movie making with a 1930's flair. Even got the hat.

This is a very kind, thoughtful, and generous opportunity.

1; I would like to win Close Encounters Of The Third Kind

2; My favorite Spielberg film have to be Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The reason is simple, everyone says that a sequel is never equally as good as the first movie. Here we have a movie that in my opinion actually surpass not only the previous sequel BUT the first movie (Raiders Of the Lost Ark). How many directors out there can achieve such a remarkable thing. Yes people argue that Godfather Part 2 is the best sequel out there but no one talks about the next best sequel. In my mind this is it.
