Die Hard with a Vengeance - I kept on waiting to heat that cool rendition of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" Instead we got the most boring parts of the score, two classical pieces and some rap music Black Hawk Down - Most of the score wasn't on the cd and most what was on the cd wasn't in the film. I'm sure Zimmer enjoys his little jam sessions, but I'd rather he keep those to himself and release the music as heard in the film

I'm going to nominate a controversial one to start off that I don't think too many will agree with. John Williams; Return of the Jedi! One LP,, All those concert versions of cues. The inclusion of Lapti Nek! So much of this awesome score missing. I just can't remember being so disappointed with an album. I hate to say it (Star Wars fan-to-the-end that I am), but I have to agree. After the beautifully presented 2-LP sets for "Star Wars" and "Empire", to be left with a single LP presentation for the longest score for the original trilogy was a major letdown for me. Omitting distinctive and/or interesting cues like "Fight in the Dungeon", "The Final Duel", "Darth Vader's Death", or even the admittedly short "Speeder Bike Chase" was odd, to say the least. Then, to have so much of its running time eaten up by snooze-inducing suites like "Luke and Leia" and "Parade of the Ewoks" was just adding insult to injury.

For A Few Dollars More was one of my most disappointing buys, 6 tracks from a score that runs 60+ minutes and worst of all the climatic showdown theme edited all to hell. Whoever thought that editing the Church Duel and the Final Showdown together to form one cue was a good idea was having a very bad day. The other thing that really annoyed me was, where was the watch, all those scenes in the film that were accompanied by the "Watch" music, none of it made it to the soundtrack release. We got one edited track and 5 score tracks, 4 of which were fine and the 5th (Il Colpo) a severely truncated version of the film cue. Instead of filling both sides of the LP with music from FAFDM, we got the original 6 tracks from a Fistful of Dollars to round out the album. A very very disappointing release, and here I am 40+ years on, still waiting for a proper release of my most wanted score. If they release it after I'm dead, I'll bloody well come back and haunt them.

Aside from comparisons to the first two double LP sets, what's the point of including concert suites when the suites are almost completely duplicated? Especially when you're limited to a single LP. The Main Title suite (duplicating the end credits) from Star Wars and The Imperial March section of the end credits of Empire didn't feel nearly as redundant. Then again they weren't as long either. (Still not as bad as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where we got THREE presentations of the motorcycle chase.) The first two LPs felt like a grand presentation of the films. Jedi felt like an afterthought.
