Easy. For me it would be The Tamarind Seed. I'd prefer the original tracks, but my thinking concerning re-recordings has evolved over the years and I'd be equally happy with that as well.

I'd love to hear his YEAR OF THE COMET score, as the replacement score is a favorite of mine and I can only imagine what Barry created.

I think the real number one is SINFUL DAVEY but we know that's not possible. The next one is MISTER MOSES but we know that's not possible too. After that I would say it's an even tie between GOODBYE LOVER and YEAR OF THE COMET.

Barry's final work 'The Seasons' The problem is, apart from those closest to him, we don't know how much was completed. However, even a few sketches could be arranged and orchestrated by Nic Raine into a performable work

Love Among the Ruins, the Canadian TV film with Sir Lawrence Olivier and Katherine Hepburn! A loverly little Barry score, almost like a lullaby in a way. But sadly, as it's a Canadian production and likely recorded in Canada, a release seems unlikely. When asked about "Junior Bonner" again, Roger posted in August, 2013: Not anymore. I took another run at it. The problem is it's a short score and the only available elements were 1/4" mono stored at BYU. And BYU raised their transfer rates 10 fold, making the deal financially out of reach. We had the same issue with FUNERAL HOME -- really high costs, but in that case due to the Canadian Musician's Union. But that was a decent length score coming from 24-track stereo elements so we were able to charge a premium price (and thank you all, still, for supporting that release even with the high price tag). And that will be the last score recorded in Canada we do. He went on to salso say licensing is easy, but it's the Canadian Musician's Union that was the problem. If Intrada, one of the top labels, can't afford to to deal with the Union anymore, I just don't see other labels doing so. What we need is the Canadian Lukas to help renegociate the fees. Or maybe we just fly him on there and have him relate that American is very cross with them over this. ;-)
